Tuning 40 DCOE Weber 151 on an L24
I should mention, my carbs are 42 DCOE 8 triples not 40's. After a little drive this morning I find that I have developed a flat spot on tip in, especially aggressive tip in. But, my A:F numbers are much improved. It idles in the 11:1 range and except for when I drop the throttle, it stays in the 12 and 13:1 range. Drop throttle gets you 15:1 and there about... I have found some throttle response and power that wasn't there before which is really nice. Now, how to deal with the flat spot? Thanks for the props on the install.

Tuning 40 DCOE Weber 151 on an L24
Perhaps I can add to the body of knowledge being assembled here. I am in Reno Nevada at 4500ft above sea-level. Ambient in August is a balmy 90+ degrees with 20% humidity. I was running extremely rich this spring when I got her running. (I just moved here). The following was my set up: Idle jet 50F9 E-tube F11 Main jet 145 Air correction 170 Fuel pressure 2psi at idle Brass floats set to 5.5 Mixture screws were 2 turns out It ran pretty well with this set-up. But I do have an Innovate LM set up installed in the original ashtray so I can hide it when I want. I would start up and idle at 9.5:1 and pretty much never got much better than 13:1. I made the following changes and took it for a little cruise in the night air just a bit ago. It feels better but I imagine I will need to do some daytime testing and let her get warmed up to tell for sure. Idle jet 50F8 E-tube F11 (stayed the same) Main jet 140 Air correction 180 Fuel pressure 2psi at idle (stayed the same) Brass floats set to 8 Mixture screws 1.5 turns out

Anyone want new door cores made out of fiberglass for the vinyl kits?
You're welcome Steve... My Momma's from Southern Georgia, Northern Florida... It's just the Southern way... 8)

It's Rayven14 or something like that. Go to HybridZ, find the interior section, There is a thread about door panels with speaker pods. Not my cup of tea, but Pete is willing to do them in factory flavor as well. $250 + shipping

I've seen Pete's work and it is top notch. I may do those as a temporary measure as I have a completely restored interior and no door panels. But frankly, when Les and his gang do something it is perfect in most cases. In the end, I will probably go with what Les comes up with... Here are some pictures of Pete's work...

Doing laps *incar videos*
Thanks Larry! Very cool. That thing runs great considering the pretty stock limitations you have to work with!

I would love that Larry!

This looks like it will work... This is what that little beauty looks like when she's not in motion. Silverstreak's looks the same.

Naturally, it works just fine for me. 8( There must be a method other than pasting the URL for posting YouTube video here. I have to search for a FAQ on that and repost...

Sparco EVO 2 in an S30? Will it fit?
I am thinking of putting a Sparco EVO 2 seat in my 240Z but my friend Silverstreak brings up a good point. Does it fit? If you have done this, show me some pics of your mount and the seat in the car. I slid all over in last weeks track day on my stock seats with stock belts.:tapemouth

Here is me in my car last weekend at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Northern Calfornia. Stock seats and belts so I was holding on for dear life but once I got my bearings on how to hold myself in place things went better. http://www.youtube.com/my_videos_edit?ns=1&feature=vm-privacy&video_id=akqw32y9WDE I should clarify, that is my car in front. The Z from which it is being filmed belongs to Silverstreak1971 or just Silverstreak here.

I went to change my oil and the filter canister was dented on the bottom
We figured it out... The shop is owned by a friend and he thinks one of his guys got over-zealous with the filter wrench when he put it on. I thought it might have collapsed but that isn't likely...

I went to change my oil and the filter canister was dented on the bottom
Just went to change my oil and found the filter canister somewhat dented in at the outboard edges. This was a WIX filter that the shop I had work on my carbs put on because it was dumping fuel into the crankcase. It is smaller than the factory filter but I am not sure that would cause it to collapse! Any ideas? I am putting a factory filter on with the oil change...
