overfender, i think thats what they are called, they are the vertical bits on your bumper. my Zed has a "straight" bumper, but yours just at the cut sections has 2 small vertical bits. i think ive heard those things called overfenders on a classic volkswagen site i was on before. i think they were put on american Zeds because of some federal car regulations, which then later turned into those big arsed plastic bumpers in time

@zsondabrain: nice stuff, chromey chrome too! the overfenders are nice., have thought about putting on mine, but wouldnt feel right. these were added for the US market yeah? was kinda thinking of taking the bupers off altogether, but chrome bumpers are nice

tbh i dont remember what it is. i got the car as you see in the pics. gav240z might know...he knows this stuff. they are common enough, ill start looking. heres another nice one looks similar, but is a bit lower i think and has air vents also, here http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/240z.html mine looks like the fibreglass yoke for $140, mines fibreglass (thank god, completly whacked it against a bad kerb a while ago and just bounced back out) and the pic ive attached seems to be the same but with cooling ducts

not a fan of the gnose, i think it makes them look more docile, i love the big rectangular grill. ive an air dam on the front, love it.

If you did not have your Z....
saw this today on the interweb and it rather appealed to me an amg 450sl that only won one race that year, but it saved amg. side profile is great. now not a race one, but big arse arches are great

If you did not have your Z....
if no Zed, then maybe a modernised karman ghia with a subaru impreza engine that looks like... or a nice 911 like this, big, black, wide and maybe in matt too

howdy, heres my 1978 datsun 240z
yeah, im not mad on the fender mirrors myself, would prefer nice chrome ones by the windows. but im not gonna start rooting with it and patching up holes for something minor like that. never drove a car with them so am looking forward to the experience, "keep her away from trees (and leprechauns...)" them leprechauns are f******s, jump right out in front of you in the middle of the night. thats how i crashed the last car. i didnt have leprechaun insurance so didnt get any money back.

howdy, heres my 1978 datsun 240z
ah yeah, been corrected on that before. she is officially a 78 fairlady Z. but looks like a 240z, so thats what ill call her. any other number conjures up images of the later heavier models, so i try to remove that cloud and just say 240z or fairlady. but i prefer 240z

howdy, heres my 1978 datsun 240z
hi folks. new to the site officially, but often visited before. was waiting till my baby was purchased! heres my soon to be datsun 240z. she was purchased at an auction last week in tokyo by newera imports ( http://www.neweraimports.com/index.htm ) and A.D.D. performance ( http://www.addperformance.ie/ ) I previously owned an s15 spec R, but a tree went through it! shes got the original L28 straight 6, bored out to 3.0. lovely watanabe alloys and the bolt on wide arch kit. sexy time hope to have by late august, cant wait to join in on the datsun buzz as these cars are very rare in ireland (ive never seen one)
