Good luck with that search. If you can find a 240Z in good physical condition it will fetch a pretty penny, even if it doesn't run. I was looking for a project so I was willing to accept a challenge with my 260, and a challenge I received.

I get around 10 mpg in town (sideways). On the highway at 100 mph I get 28 mpg!

My passenger side was worse than that. I fixed it with minimal effort and made it stronger at the same time. (see my pics).

Check your fusible links. If the fusible link from your alternator is blown, your alternator will run wide open which can cause other problems.
