I would like to buy a set of 240z or 260z bumpers from someone close by if possible. I live in Sweet Home Oregon. South of Salem and north of Eugene. If not I can pay for shipping. if you have some good wreaking yards in your area and you know that there are z with bumpers let me know. The yards there in oregon have been cleaned out!!! I just dont want to pay an arm and a leg for the bumpers... thanks...
  3. Check the connections to your water temp. sensor. I know that was the problem with my 76.
  4. Yes Jon you are correct and I am sorry for snapping like I did. I just pray that God has his hand on our nation thru the next four years.
  5. I agree with Montezuma.

This is pretty much what I would like besides the bottom spoiler thats on it. I like the grill and the side bumpers.

Arne, Would you happen to have the two side pieces for the 240z bumper??? Or wait... is it all one piece? or not? Ive seen some 280z with the two side pieces and a big grill to fill the center. There is someone on this site that has this mod. Its an orange car and he is from marysville washington. His name is Dave and his screen name is Zs-ondabrain. i would like to do something like he has done.

Its not the fact that I hate the bumpers. Its really that the rubber is in need of replacing. I also would like to do something custom if I could. The rubber is so spendy and personaly all the rubber products Ive bought for older cars in the past dont last as long as the originals. They crack and fade like 20 times faster. Waste of money in my opinion. I do like the look of the cars with out bumpers. Really the 240z bumper serves one purpose and that is to dress the car up some more. Plus the prices for those things are thru the roof. Im not looking for a esay way out but I guess just something different. So when people see the Z they will say wow Ive never seen one like that before. But im wanting to do this without doing anything to the body... that is a very important thing to me. I have an idea for the rear end just not the front... Oh and by the way FREAKIN LOVE THE NEW 370Z!!!

I was wondering if there are any of you out there that own 280z's that have left and only used the stock boby pieces and have done something custom to the grill/frontend of the car. Im not wanting to buy a front air dam because I like the look of the stock body but not the hugh bumper. So I want something custom and im looking for ideas...

Well I looked under the hood tonight but all the grounds look good and all the connections look fine. Im thinking its the fuel pump. is it commen for fuel pumps to come and go when they are going out? I have not checked the fuel pressure yet because I dont have a gauge.

Well I took the Z for a good run... she started bogging again. So I replaced the old ECU with the new still running bad. Im starting to think its the fuel pump now. I noticed that there was a pretty loud clicking coming from the fuel pump. So loud that I could hear it from inside the car. My problem is... I just be crusin along and bam nothing... car has died. Then it wont start. After tryin and tryin. Then it starts to smell flooded but I would think if its the fuel pump it would not do that. What do you guys think???

Ok I got a new ECU for the Z. Plugged it in and she fired right up! BUT... I got out of the car and noticed a huge puddle of gas forming under the car back by the tank. So has fast as I could I turned the car off because I have a gas fernace in my garage. The leak just happen to be a bad hose coming of the fuel pump. Changed it. Then I put the old ecu in and tried to start her... thinking that mayed that bad gas line might have been causing the lines not to have a full vacum allowing the car to run boggish or even run at all. Well she fired right up. Had to set the idle and she running great...:stupid: Does this sound right??? Should I take the ECU back and just call it a day?

I have a 1976 280z. The only way I can get her to start is to tap the ECU with my foot while starting the car. Can I just go pull a ECU out of another Z the same year or so and put it in or does it have to be a set one??? I have not pulled it out yet to see if its just a bad connection or not but we will see. Thanks for your input...

Thanks Will! Jusy let me know what you find. Im not having any luck with these cars in wrecking yards here in oregon. Sucks! Have not gone to eugene or salem tho...:cross-eye My louvers are in great shape! Its just these darn locks! I would hate to have to replace the whole louvers. But like Stephen said... 5 bucks at a yard sale! Thats not bad at all!

Ok... I have one out of two locks on my rear louvers. The one that I have is pretty beat up by someone just using a screw driver to open it. Do any of you have any of these locks that you want to sell???

I am having pretty much the same problem with my 76 280z so I went and got a new coil. Well the car is running and has not died on me yet. I dont know about the mpg yet but I was also getting like 14 mpg. Im hoping Ill be getting 20 that would be freakin sweet! Ya my car would be running fine then out of no where she would die... then it would take forever to get her to start. You could totally tell she was flooded out too. After about 10 min. of tryin to start her she would finally start pushing out a cloud of black smoke.... but so far all good with the new coil!:cross-eye

I put a new cold air intake on my 280 and now it seems like the idle is set to low or something. So here is my question... Do I have to adjust the idle to the larger amount of air now entering the motor or is there another problem im going to have to deal with??? Let me know what you think...
