Awesome I love it! Nice and deep and throaty. What does it sound like on the highway?

I agree with d240zx2, I have recently looked into this topic and it is much better off to go with a ceramic coated header than wrapping. However, it depends on your budget, time frame and whether or not you like the wrapped look. My 2 cents

I have previously jump started the old girl by connecting to both posts

I have western 14 x 7 on my 240z and I run Yokohama AVS ES100 205/60R14 and they are not even close to rubbing. Got them from http://www.tirerack.com/ quite cheap around $90 each. Grips is quite good and wear is appropriate to the grip and way I drive
  6. I left the original ballast in and I have 3 Ohm fireblaster coil. I still have to write up my pertronix swap with pics to help others after the late nights at work ends in a few week most likely. I have also read that it might be the Taco but I like the original look
  7. I also have this problem after switching to the Pertronix set up. I have left it as is so far because I do not often take it out that high. But would love to know if you solve this? I would rather not go to a new distributor until I get the engine rebuilt.
  8. Yeah would love to know if the one I took out was original or not anyone have pics with an original series 1 out of the car?
  9. I think Galaxybj is correct I also recently swapped out what I believe to be the original 2 row radiator (based on what the PO said) for a 3 row as she would get a little warm sitting in traffic and of course that led to vapour lock
  10. I found this old thread did anything ever surface with the license plate frame? Are they available? Stickers?
  11. geezer, I am considering buying these and would be most interested in having the matching 4th cap. I would repaint them to restore the front so as long as the chrome, shape and D is fine I would be interested in getting it from you if you have a spare one

Hey Jay56 welcome aboard! I am also new here my tips would be to use the search function it is amazing the wealth of knowledge here and lots of helpful people. I would also recommend HybridZ http://forums.hybridz.org/ which has a lot of great information for non OEM parts, upgrades and modifications. Cheers JC
  13. Yeah individually he could make more money but I guess he just wants to get rid of all this extra stuff taking up space. I am guessing that you could knock him down a little from the $2.5k. Would be a deal I would consider if I was local to turn a profit and get some bits and pieces I need
  14. Selling a marked VIN tag seems weird to me, gives an opportunity for someone to rip of an early Z like recently: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32671&highlight=71 Especially for excited people looking for their first Z. I agree that perhaps he does not know the difference between the valve whole locations, I guess we will see when he answers.

Still a beautiful and amazing car IMO, even though I do prefer the L-series motor and I guess most people here do too otherwise we would be over at hybridz . Is the original scarb equipment worth a pretty penny now?
  16. Yeah I saw that too Julio $350 is crazy. I guess people are just trying to get what they can and hope someone's passion and wallet is that big

Just wondering is there anywhere on this site where we keep a list of "bad" ebay sellers to advise caution to new people such as myself? I did a quick search but didn't find anything... Cheers JC

Is it me and my dusty screen or is it missing the front windshield?
  19. Looks fantastic Julio can not wait to see the finished product!! Cheers JC
  20. Mine sleeps outside in the apartment complex carport with a car cover . Zedyone_kenobi wish I had a cool garage like you!
  21. I have heard of people using the Chrome tape you can buy. Never tried it myself so not sure how good it would be. I would say it would have that distinctive tape look too it. Cheers JC

Those wheels are very unique and not very common if it was me I would keep them unless you are going to restore and use original wheels. If not I am sure you could get a pretty penny for the not so common wheels and might help into getting more modern wheels. Check out Motorsport Auto for more modern wheels popular ones are Panasport and Konig wheels. Cheers JC
  23. Any info you can give on materials and procedures you used?

  25. OK ignore this if you wish as this is some unasked for advice. I drove my Z for a few months with points and found that although it ran well without adjustment to the points to get the most smooth running, fuel economy and power out of the L24 I was always resetting the points. Spark and timing is a big part of having the L series run well. I know you wish to restore but some upgrades like electronic ignition really make sense. Ill bet that if you rewire a pertronix like setup you could get it to look almost complete stock with same colour wires spliced into harness etc (unless someone took the distributor cap off) and get the added benefit of electronic ignition without the constant hassle of resetting the points. Sorry for the unwarranted advice. My question is unless you want a perfect Gold restored Z car why not stay with electronic ignition? But that is my opinion and it is your car do what will make you happy.
