  1. At the back of the drum brake there is a hex section (longer than the front) which ends in the bleed nipple on mine. You should be able to see it from the back or underneath.

Thanks. Are you painting with POR15 and then using an etching primer for sanding and levelling?

Wow this is simply amazing I wish I had your skills. Looking forward to seeing the final product. How did you treat the metal after you welded in new sections.
  4. Anyone else see this? Not sure how accurate it is but was interesting to see all the different styling changes and cues.
  5. I remember talking to one of the people at MSA and they added it to my profile so now that whenever I log in the discount is reflected.

A friend of mine who has been a Z mechanic for many years said with U-joints always go OEM they are more expensive but do not have the play problems and won't fail prematurely. I took his advice and haven't had any trouble with them.
  7. Delete: misread the problem
  8. These look awesome thank you!
  9. +1 for Rob and ZCarGarage, I have always had good experiences with him and lots of very useful advice. I have never heard a bad thing. He even helped get me difficult parts.
  10. Went on a coast drive up the Northern California and Southern Oregon coast. Set the Tokico Illuminas at 3 and they were perfect for the trip. Avenue of the Giants is a great drive through the redwoods but even better is the Newton B. Duruy Scenic Parkway on the Praire Creek Redwoods State Park / Redwood National Park. I got some in car gopro video but it doesn't do it justice. Highway 1 is an amazing drive with some very fun roads, going through the week and late in the season helped as the traffic wasn't bad and most people once they saw a bright orange Z belting down the road behind used the turnouts and let me by Car is filthy now so needs a good bath and vacuum.
  11. Thanks for the pics these look great!
  12. Thanks, let me know I would be interested in a couple
  13. No need for a press
  14. I am also curious as to what other people do for these seals, is there a McMaster seal, not for the seal to the carbs but the internal seals in the housing. Sorry if this is a hijack but I thought he meant the internal seals.
  15. Thanks for the post

Rest in peace Fred. He was kind enough to share his story with me when I visited the Datsun Heritage museum I will never forget that experience.
  17. Zedyone_kenobi, please keep us up to date if you do this and post pics
  18. I love those wheels and want to see them on a Z as I am also considering, since there are just too many panasports out there. How do they hold up on the track?
  19. Julio, yes I did there were old stock springs that were quite saggy, the new 280z tokicos are much stiffer I am still messing with the adjustment setting on the illuminas and I still have the noise in the back and can't work out for the life of me what it is. I also changes a few other things with the "while I am at it", Time to move on and completely redo the white one.
  20. Drove it, finally after pulling apart suspension, radiator, thermostat, wipers and other odd jobs. Great to drive her again on a sunny day

I used a bench vise and a plumbers wrench, even had to use a hammer on the plumbers wrench to crack a stubborn one lose.
  22. Julio, I use Valvoline Vr-1 10w-30 for the ZDDP you mention. You can get it cheap sometimes on Amazon or other online shops, so I stock up when it is on sale.
  23. Front suspension and brakes rebuilt finally, now to finish the rear!
  24. Can you not bolt it on the passenger side of the trans tunnel? Which extinguishers can be placed on their side?
  25. Zealous replied to akzbob's post in a topic in Help Me !!
Why paint them? Fashion/style? It can make the heat dissipation worse. Although for drums on the rear this might not be an issue.
