  1. it was mounted directly to engine side of the radiator. Oh and I do have one of the FI cooling fansaround also. Seeing how I will be switching my radiator to the 81 radiator this weekend due to the fact that my 76' rad. blew a hole in it this week, I may get the urge to use the electric fan instead of the belt driven one.
  2. I have an electric fan sitting in my garage that came out of a 81_280zx turbo with the automatic and the fan does not have that big schroud around it and the motor is quite a bit smaller then the one in the drawing. I can take a pictue of it if you would like me to.

yeah it would but the circut board would not allow me to go any lower then it is I filed off as much of it as I could without hitting the soder traces on it. I am just happy to have a working clock for now. I may look farther into this project in the future but for right now im happy only spending 30-60Min. and 8$.

Well as the title says I did my own Mod. to my clock. I was tired of looking at my Z clock being in the same spot since I purchased the car. I tried to fix the clock that was there but the oscillating spring was broken off of the main shaft. After setting the clock guts aside in a zip lock bag, I decided to take action and do something of my own. The clock I used was a 8$ travel alarm from Target. I cut the clock out of it's body down to a useable frame. I also made a plate from perforated .050" aluminum to fit where the clock face did. I mounted the LCD and the chip that runs it along with the buttons for adjustment all on the back side of the plate I made. So here is what I came up with. What do you guys think. Here is a link to the pic I could not get it to be in this post as a image. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showfull.php?photo=28299

  6. The Northeast Z Adventure - 2008 June 21 - Show on the lawn June 17 - Special Tour of Saratoga Racecourse Location: Saratoga Springs, New York – great tourist destination town (See www.Saratoga,com.) and it’s just down the road from another great place, Lake George (www.lakegeorgechamber.com). Rain or shine, this is a fun location! Co-sponsored by ZANY (the Z Association of New York) and the Saratoga Automobile Museum, 110 Avenue of the Pines (See www.saratogaautomuseum.org.) The Saturday show will be a fun people’s choice event on the Museum’s green lawn. There will be trophies in ten classes and “Best in Show.” Tee shirts to the first 30 entrants and dash plaques to the first 50. There will be a new exhibit on the main-floor gallery and the nice continuing collection of race cars upstairs. Free admission to the Museum is included with your show registration. Note: ZANY has arranged to have a food vendor at the museum. Also, be sure to arrive Friday night in time for the ZANY hospitality room at the Marriott Courtyard in Saratoga Springs. Look for a sign in the lobby. This year we have a suite to hold the crowd more comfortably. (Stay the night in the suite, and get a better rate than for a normal room! You just have to stay up ‘till the party’s over. Contact Jeff Fox (70240z@nycap.rr.com ) if interested. First come...) There will be no autocross on Sunday. Sorry, but no venues were available to us. Instead, ZANY is offering a guided tour early Sunday at the Saratoga thoroughbred track. This is perhaps America’s most famous horse racing track and a significant hunk of amazing victorian wood construction. The tour will literally show you the facilities and arrangements on the back side of the track where the horses are kept, the stable workers (a small army of them!) live and work and the trainers work their magic. It’s $10 each and limited to the first 18 people to sign up. (Contact Jeff Fox (70240z@nycap.rr.com ) if interested.) Register and pay on-line for the show at www.saratogaautomuseum.org. It’ s $25 until June 1, then $35. ZANY reserves the right to limit registrations to only those pre-registered by June 14. In addition to the information you tell the Museum, please send a list of modifications to your car to Jeff Fox at 70240z@nycap.rr.com so he can be sure you’re in the correct class. The headquarters hotel, the Marriott Courtyard, is a luxurious 4-star downtown hotel and conference center where we have gotten a very special rate through one of the Museum’s board members. Regular $200.00 rooms will cost us just $139.00. Less expensive lodging can be found outside of town. Look for motels in the towns of Ballston Spa, Wilton, and Malta, all about 10-15 minutes away. For more info., contact Jeff Fox (70240Z@nycap.rr.com) or (518) 355-0877.

It passed inspection yesterday so I have been driving it around quite a bit today. I love my Z, so much fin to drive plus it will get better gas mileage then my dodge truck. Ahhh back to being a daily driver for the nice weather.

Well between getting some new heater hose, replacing the thermostat, the radiatior cap, and sodering wires back onto the temp switch its good to go. Now to just get the few lights that dont work working and it should be ready to pass inspection for the year.
  10. that seal is in the right place you will find that the spot in the intake will fit that OD of that just right. I think that you would only need 1 per injector.

You can start by searching the site and you will more then likley find everything you would like to know. I also own a 76' and have thought about that route myself.
  12. I just went down this road when i made my custom fuel rail and if you are replacing the old hose going directly to the injector it is a pain in the arse to get that hose off the bard especialy when it is old and dry rotted I spent 30 min or more just getting the old hose off the injectors. I had a vacauum leak by my injectors and replaced my seal and the sucking - hissing noise went away. I also bought all new hardware to screw all the injectors down with seeing how the philips heads were stripped out in some cases. I spent $2.40 for the metric bolts to fit them at lowes. New FI hose will be the most expensive part of the project.

I did mark the black wheel good so I can put it back to where it was. Before I changed this the car was jumping 200-300 RPM's when at an idle like it was not getting enough gas+air and I know the timeing is right acording to the manual for manual trans. non-Cali. car settings.

I know I did it the wrong way adjusting the AFM I used my ears to listen to the engine instead of a fancy tool. I adjusted the black wheel 4 theeth at a time till the engine ran good and had no skip to it after adjusting the time of the engine to 10 degrees. I was going off of http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/afm/index.html

Hey guys just want to see if I am on the right track here. I have a 76 280Z So here is my problem I got my car running for the year now. New plugs wires cap oil coolant so on and so forth. I had it running yesterday after getting the car in time 10 degrees. then I adjusted the AFM so the car was getting the right air fuel ratio. Now my coolant overflow tank started to squirt out of the top and the coolant was only luke warm. Temp gague was around 200. So my question being is I should change the thermostat and the radaitor cap and go from there right? Oh and hope that it isnt the head gasket...
