1976 280Z Restoration Project
I think the 280z drive shaft flange is square no? If so, you need to swap the companion flange from the 280z diff onto the 3.9 r200 diff. That's what I did for my car. Also, if you are thinking about media blasting your car, you gotta be careful going too hard because it will heat and warp the sheet metal on your car. My car had so much bondo and crap on it, they had to take the remaining material off by hand. If I were to do my car again, I would get it acid dipped....

My Datsun 280Z "Rustoration"
what are you doing for the crankcase breather (the one under the thermostat housing)? Did you just cap it off or are you venting it some other method?

1976 280Z Restoration Project
Nice house Mark! Good to see that you are going through with the project. I have a lot of respect for people that do their own bodywork. Next time if I do a resto, I'm going to do it myself. So where did you find your awsome house? Or did you build it? If you're ever in need of parts, let me know.. I may have what you need. Most likely not, but ya never know.

Hello, It's been almost 4 years since I took my car apart and now I'm putting it back together...And i just realized I did a terrible job labeling and documenting parts. Can someone help me ID this part? I'm thinking it's part of the dash... but where?

I Brought My Gas Tank Back From The Dead
I had my gas tank repaired recently. Although not as bad as yours, and didn't do my own repairs, it came out great! Had the tank cleaned and sealed, and the shop I took it to soldered, not welded, all the pin hole leaks. The tank had some small dents, but after having it coated with Line-X, it came out great! there is still one dent on the tank however, but shouldn't be too noticeable given where its located.

Matching lock sets
Good to know. Thanks guys! Worst case scenario, I think I can live with 2 different keys.. I would rather not have 3 or 4 different keys.

Matching lock sets
Can you re-tumble the ignition, door locks, and hatch locks so that they match? I'm having a tough time finding a lock set. No problems finding pieces individually, but of course, they are all keyed different.

Front fender advice
I purchased new fenders from the dealer 2 years ago and had them installed recently. It initially didn't fit all that well. My bodyshop messed around with it for a while, turns out, my chassis alignment was out of spec. Had it straightened and now the fenders line up much better. If your fenders dont' fit well at all, it might be worth looking into checking your frame alignment.

Off to ontario!
The bodyshop I'm using is more or less in edmonton. St.albert to be exact its called redline custom autobody in edmonton. They do great work though. For taking so long, they have given me a discount though. . I'm hoping if I get my car back this summer, I'll have it out for next summer. Hope I can catch your car at the car show.

Off to ontario!
Hi northernz!Nice project! I understand what you are going through. Bodyshops will do collision work before anything because it keeps the business going. My car has been in the bodyshop for almost 3 years!! Alot of contributing factors at the bodyshop, such as, more than usual collision work, more than expected rust/damage repairs on my car, employee shortage, and high end customers taking time away from my car. It's quite upsetting because its not like I'm short on funds. I'm hoping to get my car out of the bodyshop this summer. Would be nice to see your car. I'm in Edmonton as well.

73 Front valance the same as 72 ??
Bump from the dead, There seems to be some variances with the center valance panel on the 240z's I have a early 260z with the turn signals still located on the lower valance. Will any 240z center valance panels fit my car?
