just bought a 280z 78'. We were trying to get it running when we encountered some electrical problems. the pickup inside the dizzy isn't getting any power. they are the red and green wire which travel from the dizzy to the transistor ignition unit. these wires don't have any current going through them. I tested the the black and white wire going to the ignition unit above the fuse box and it had power. this i believe is coming from the ignition switch. the blue wire coming out of the unit has power, and the book says it goes some where in the fuel injection part. the black wire is a ground . so the only wires that don't have power are the red and green going to the dizzy. does this mean i need a new transistor ignition unit and if so what will work and what is the best kind. or is something else causing the red and green wire to have no power. thanks roby

i have a 240z and there is a metal on metal noise coming from the left rear. the noise only happens every half spin of tire. e brake is very week so i don't think it is it. does anybody have a clue before i go tearing away at it. also there is a clicking noise coming from the right side of the rearend. this noise only starts at 35 mph and varies from rpms. if no gas if being pushed at 60 then it rides smooth enought but when accelerting a bad wobble comes in and a clicking noise happens. if any body has any answers it would be greatly appreciated. roby 240 thanks

Hello I need a diagram of a 73 240 coil and dizzy hook up. I just tried to put the petronix electronic ignition on and when i tried to start it i fried it. so i'm back to single points am not 100 percent sure if i hooked it up right. the car runs and drives but i'm just not sure. timing mark jumps from 13 to 10 every once in a while, and takes about 2 minutes of cranking to start when cold outside, which in turn makes my battery go dead. also does the voltage regulator have to have anything inbetween it and the inner engine bay like plastic or rubber. is anybody in the roseburg oregon area work on z's. I know we have some parts dealers but nobody seems willing to help. thanks rob

hello i was wondering whether or not u could adapt a 260z electronic dizzy to a 240z wiring harness. I have the 260z dizzy and ei module, just tried the petronix system and burnt it up so thats 80 bucks down the drain. If not does any one have a 280zx dizzy, and how much do they run Thanks Rob
