  1. I guess I'll end my subscription to the Enquirer then, here I thought all along that Elvis was a Martian from Jupiter, darn.
  2. No, me saying I wasnt wearing a mask was not intended as being mean spirited, I was just setting the situation as why this woman behaved that way, you know, ridiculously. I also am not trolling, If I wanted to say something I would, but even then this is not the correct format for that kind of exchange. I was not goading you for a response in a negative way. Were talking about a virus, you seem to be talking about something else that has orbited covid since about the beginning. Viruses are bad, you to act as if a person, government, individual has any control over it is kind of silly. You are 100% correct, what I had said above does illustrate vaccinations and precautions, but my story about my family was before there was a vaccine. Not that it matters, but no where did I say vaccine bad or good.
  3. This is called living life. Some see living life differently than others. There are so many variables to covid. My 80 year old mother in law who is overweight, diabetic, and elderly stayed in her house for 2 months at the beginning of this, until she said screw it, "this is not living, I'm done" she said. When my wife and I had covid and didnt know it, We had spent time with her for a few days and she never had one symptom or issue (pre vaccine). My wife was really sick for 3 days and I felt like I was catching a cold off and on for 3 weeks. My point is, people as individuals have to make the call on what they believe is correct, arguing on levels from Federal to personal is wearing thin on many, and graphing from California, Australia, China is great, but is the end game to pit one group against another? Australia gave up on their goal of locking down the nation until 70 or 80% vaccinations because they realized that it was going to do more harm than good. I'm in Vancouver, WA today, and was out for a walk during the morning cool, and this woman walking towards me on the sidewalk quickly donned her mask and looked at me like I had snakes coming out of my ears, no I didnt have a mask on. What kind of world are we creating, and what are the positives of it?
  4. Good looking car. Cant wait to see more pics.
  5. So neat. I had a Silver 72, one of many 240z's I have owned. Looks beautiful.
  6. I remember the early 80s well when my Social studies teacher said be careful at the water fountain because you may get AIDS from it. One thing is for sure, covid protocols have zero consistency. Example; you couldn't got to church, but you could ride an airliner for hours sitting shoulder to shoulder. Correcting ignorance is not a fair statement when there's been nothing but contradictory info and contradictory protocols for over a year and a half.
  7. I stated a few post up somewhere where I do believe there is a severity to covid, but not like it was last year. Me saying covid will be like another flu was the fact that it will be with us, but not pandemic or even epidemic levels. I'm not downplaying the pandemic, but I wont subscribe to the fever pitch attitude either, nor the brow beating of vaccinated to unvaccinated, masks no masks, lockdowns no lockdowns. Divide and conquer is a real thing, and there are several entities in this Nation that are doing just that. Covid wont be on the radar some day and then many around us will have to move on or carry this torch for many years to come. Reminds me of a certain period in this Nations history that many still bring up today. Covid bad, but there are many things that covid brought us that are far worse and will be with us many years after covid is gone.
  8. Just perused google for the info. Cant remember the site but it was CDC info.
  9. 864 deaths last week Nationwide. Hospitals are getting crowded, but people are recovering, not dying. My analogy with monthly traffic deaths are on par with covid, but never heard of refer trucks for that issue. Edit; I never once said or believe any of this is fake, but the numbers I think are not accurate.
  10. My data was worldwide. Just over 2% of the worldwide cases have died from covid, 4.5m deaths. 217m cases. I argue that many like one of my daughters was asymptomatic, so 217m cases is not an accurate number. How many millions are asymptomatic that have not been tested? Add the political aspect of covid, and I think the numbers are not an accurate representation. I know 3 separate families that had grandparents die at old age, and the cause of death was covid, when they never had it. One hospital told the daughter that if they put covid as the death that the hospital gets more funding and Fed support. By no means am I down playing the pandemic, but there is no consistently, and if the worldwide cases are 217m, then I know for a fact it should be 217,000,003. But I'm not an epidemiologist, and I wont pretend I'm one either like so many people do these days.
  11. Doing a little surfing on data, I found it interesting that the (annual) US deaths from car accidents is at current covid deaths (per week). Nothing more than that.
  12. So you dont see this pandemic ending? Most pandemics ends within 1.5-2 years. Flu kills hundreds of thousands every year, covid will be just one of them.
  13. Annual United States Road Crash Statistics More than 38,000 people die every year in crashes on U.S. roadways. The U.S. traffic fatality rate is 12.4 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. An additional 4.4 million are injured seriously enough to require medical attention. 631,440 Total Deaths Reported from Covid 864 Current 7-Day Average
  14. I'm still a little ways off on the bumper, car still on rotisserie with metal work. I started a build thread for it, but I'm not that diligent on keeping up with pics. I find myself working on it then realize I didnt take any pictures. I still welcome the visit, at least for moral support. I'll send a PM.
  15. I didnt think about extending the mount outside the bumper to steady the lights, makes sense. More holes......
  16. I plugged all the holes except two, taped an air chuck onto an inlet and cut the tank all along the seem. Blasted and welded back together.
  17. I own #960, it has the defroster. 1/70
  18. Great topic. I am doing this as well on my 73 restoration, and didnt realize until now that there was a name for this. I have been looking at my bumper for months and have decided I will mount the bumper, then measure and cut and weld the uprights while mounted on the car. I plan to use some hefty flat bars for the verticals and when its all together have it all chromed. I have some vintage NOS Hella clear lamps and two vintage amber lamps to to have 4 lamps across the front. I also plan on using the stock over rider as well. Ever since seeing the rally cars from back in the day, I thought those bumpers were the coolest thing. The low profile of the hood and bumper arrangement lend nicely to tuck the lamps in there for a daily driver.
  19. Almost sent my mom's MG through a store front because I decided to turn the key from the passenger seat when I was a kid.
  20. In the States they always had the numerical identification. I get your drift though.
