Motorsport one piece air dam looks better. $280.

Well I did get the front grill and inspection lid off Ebay for $25 so that helps. Still need front panel, headlight casing, air dam, and left bumper stopper, and repairs to the hood. Who knows may come out ahead with extra money from this accident if I can keep finding these parts.

I am about ready to give up on my Z. The constant maintenance is killing me. I did finally get 90% out of the insurance company for the guy who tore up my front end. Too tired to argue over 10%. On the way home my rear brakes went dead and pushed it to a gas station. Fluid leaking all over the place. More repair bills. A check for $2,000 for the accident so may just get rid of this Z and look for a new one. I think mine is cursed.

Insurance companies are nothing but a rip-off. I just had an accident with a BMW and it was clearly his fault but his company just gives me the run around trying to pay for only 80% of the damages. 90% of insurance companies where I live refuse to even insure my car for the state required let alone full coverage. They just chuckle at that request. They say it is too old. You might as well just have minimum coverage. They will not pay any of you what your car is worth when wrecked.

Anyone know where to order hoods for a Z? Prefer fiberglass. I saw a web site awhile back that had them but not able to remember the url. I called MotorSport about getting prices on all the parts that need replacing (about $1200) from the accident and some putz on the phone ticked me off so I really dont care to order from them anymore. You would think with an order that size they would be helpful.

Yes I back it up. Remember I took Maaco to court and won. Not the entire case but a good part of it. Tired of people screwing up my Z and then thinking I am just going to say ok. My Z is my baby and tired of it getting abused . The owner of the BMW had full coverage so I am sure he is ticked at them as well. They have already agreed to pay 80% so they are trying some kind of scam to get me to pay the remaining 20%. If it does actually have to go to court then they are just paying more money for attorney fees and court costs. It's not worth it. They need to give up the rest of the money and stop playing games. I am writing a letter to the owner of the other car and sending it to him, the insurance company owner and the Insurance head honcho for the state of Florida. Apparently insurance companies fear him according to my girlfriend who works with non paying insurance companies on a daily basis.

I have thought about that. I may give the owner of the BMW a call. Maybe he will agree to pay the other 20% out of his own pocket and then we can both take the insurance company to court after the car is fixed so he can recover his 20%. Otherwise I will have to file the lawsuit against him since he is local and the insurance company is not. His car was damaged as well as both doors on the driver side were totaled. Told me he has a $500 deductible to pay so they may be trying to screw him over as well. Full coverage on a 97 BMW is not cheap so Liberty Mutual needs to fork it over.

I did tell the insurance rep on the phone that I am not paying a dime and they are going to pay 100% of the damages. I also mentioned a lawyer and will have to start making calls. I dont know what you mean on the other part. It will wind up costing them more with court and attorney fees in the end so I really dont get their reasoning. If your talking about getting them to settle for an amount of the car value I doubt these clowns would even come close. If I felt the accident was my fault in any way I would agree but this was all on the other driver. The ouch suddenly my back hurts is not my style but I dont feel sorry for insurance companies when people pull that trick. It is possible that this caused damage to the frame as well but I really will not be able to tell until it is taken apart. I took photos today since I really need to pull the air dam off for now to drive it.

True like the book says you reap what you sow and he reaped it. The whole point is this owner needs to go to advertising school. Whether the story is true or made up is irrelevant. I know from selling on Ebay week in and week out that the product presentation is vital to a make a sale and this story he uses just drives people away.

I had this same problem and took it to a shop to get fixed. They stated there was wire underneath the dash on the driver side that was not making a connection and turned out to be the problem. Not on the steering column but under the dash. Mine would crank but just would not turn over.

Me and a friend were driving in a Fairlady Z and pretty much doing the same speed as the rest of the interstate traffic. A station wagon had even passed us. We come over a hill and a Florida State Trooper gets right up on our tail end and pulls us over for speeding. This cop must have been having a bad day as he was using every cuss word in the book when approaching the driver side of the car which I was seated in. Keep in mind in America the steering wheel is on the left side so the cop comes to my side to write the ticket. As I roll down the window he continues yelling and acts like we were driving 100mph. I let him mouth off and then look up at him with this calm expression " I am not the one driving the car officer" He looks inside the car and notices the steering wheel is on the other side. This just made him hit the roof for looking like an idiot for yelling at me. My friend and I both had a good laugh later after he was done with his temper tantrum and writing a BS speeding ticket.

Estimates from repair shops are $1900 and $2400 to repair damages. The $1900 is from the company affiliated with the insurance company and it was obvious they were trying to stay under $2000. If they go over that then the insurance company would make a settlement offer.

In my case my girlfriend just bought another bird for $1000. -African Grey. So now she has 3 different birds. I only have one Z so she is not able to gripe if I get another one. Guess I am lucky though since she loves Z cars and wants her own 240.
