Torque converter removal
I think I sent over this once...... http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36529&highlight=Esprist Torque conver has 4 bolts that have to be taken off the flywheel. That should be done before removing the transmission. 1. Drain fluid & remove drive shaft and all the wires and speedo cable 1. Remove the engine rear bottom plate 2. Hand crank and remove the bolts x4 (Hang onto front crank bolt so you can losen them easily) 3. After removing the trans. Torque conver comes right off. Now there is 2 streght areas at front shaft that matches the troque convertor splines where you cannot really see from outside. So you take a peek into the shaft and make sure it locks back in the right place.o Rear main seal and trans seals are fairly easy to remove. Try not force anything. Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com

Front automatic tranny seal replacement
o Sure. You need to remove the drive shaft to get to it. It pops right out. Please make sure to drain the fluid out of it. It is also good idea to check and see if any of other items are not leaking: speedo cable cog, trans. modulator, and cooling lines in and out the trans. Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com

Front automatic tranny seal replacement
OK. I just did it few weeks ago,so I can share some pictures here with you. 1. remove the fan, so it does not hit the radiator when trans is removed and tilted 2. remove the rear bell housing cover (2 pc) at the bottom 3.Disconnect the battery and remove the starter. 4. Losen the bolts on torque converter by turning crank shaft. 5. Remove the drive shaft(losen 4 bolts at the back) 6. Drain trans fluid 7. Loosen cross member with support(jack?) under the oilpan. 8. Disconnect the shift linkage 9. remove the trans. So you can remove the torque converter(where the front seal is) and put it back(make sure it is locked in place) I also recommand you to replace trans. rear seal and Engine rear main seal (remove the flywheel, and do it) Esprist http://jdm-car-parts.com/page/3/

Transmission no return to center with a 5 spd in a 240Z?
No problem, one idea is to put a washer between the plug and spring to make it stronger (as old fashon way to make a high pressure oil pump) Just a thought....... Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com

Fixing the original power antenna
Here is the thing, I tried US, Canada, Japan......I cannot find a replacement mast.......So If the pastic part of mast is broken, I do not know how to fix it. Now, Nissan current version is also discontinued here in US...... Taking it apart is one thing, but repairing it is another thing. Does anyone know any possible replacement mast looks like original one? Esprist www.jdm-car-prats.com

- Transmission no return to center with a 5 spd in a 240Z?
OK. The spring is the reason for your problem, and it can be replaced while the car in up on the hoist. It takes 2 10mm bolts to remove. They are used on paaseger car and truck through mid 80s. So you might find an used one pretty much anywhere. There are also two types of that plug: oval shape with 2 10mm bolts: half oval with only 1 10mm bolt. They work the same. But As Arnie mentioned, if you could find just that spring, it will be good!. Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com- Inspection lid "Early" 4 steps

I just wanted to share this info with you. I think it is 6203(ID17mm width 23mm OD40mm ) **6302 is a different size. (OD 42mm 13mm width ID 15mm) I found this at NAPA(#38038) for $32. By the way, this NAPA ones weighs only 250g (about 1/2 weight of the original one) It looks pretty good! Esprist/One in the middle in the picture) www.jdm-car-parts.com- York AC pully question!
With many thanks, I found an old pully that I can replace the bearing, but later I found this replacement pully assembly from NAPA (made by Gates), so I wanted to share this with you all. It is #38038 from NAPA and it comes with NTN Bearing #6203LU rather than old bearing #6302. Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com- Trying to identify original 240Z keys?

Thank you. But it has to be new one, or it will make noise again....... Are you looking for something for trade? Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com- York AC pully question!
I have a very original York AC set up that was installed by Datsun dealer back then on one of my 71 car. Now the pully bearing is making a loud nose, but I do not know how to replace this baering or the pully. I can't press it out because there is metal cover over it........ There is no retainer or anything. I do not care about its originality on this at all, but I would appreciate your help here..... The bearing is made bu Nachi(Japanese one). I am hoping that there is a replacement for this......... Esprist www.jdm-car-parts- Auto change to Manual Tranny
You are very right! There might be a spacer at the back of crank shft(where flywheel bolts on) on auto trans, and it needs to be come off. You also need engine rear plate and flywheelf for manual trans, I forgot to mention......... Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com- Auto change to Manual Tranny
You need: 1.Manual pedal box 2.Clutch master cylinder 3. Clutch line for 2 4. Clutch slave cylinder with hose 5.Clutch line clip and body side clip holder at RH rail for 3 6. Clucth kit and clutch through out bearing 7. Clutch sleeve for the bearing 8. Clutch folk with retainer 9 Modifying shift area on your center console 10. Disconnecting kick down valve. All the new parts are available from MSA..... Please note that you might need different specific clutch folk for a slave clylinder. I urge you to replace rear main seal when you do all of that. **I have 1, 2, 3, 5 all for $100 of you like. Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com - Transmission no return to center with a 5 spd in a 240Z?
