Painting - Stripes or No Stripes
The one I saw had "fatter" stripes, however as E wrote, everyone has different perception...

Painting - Stripes or No Stripes
While not "exactly pure", I like the idea! I remember seeing a photo of a 280Z painted with stripes and like what I see.

help with struts
Now listen here, you asked for help not knowing if you had posted to the right site/forum. I politly answered that you might not find the answers that you asked for as it is a CLASSIC Z SITE, however keep posting anyway. I didn't tell you to get nicked and find somewhere else to post.

help with struts
You don't see much talk as it is not a zx forum. Having said that, there are some similarities, however as most if not all members on this board have a Z, not a ZX you may not find the answers you seek, or they may not be reliable, due to those differences. Keep reading up on you problem and cross reference using FSM if in doubt. Good luck...

Two questions please
McKrack, There is a thread on "new" springs that were manufactured as a project by Carl Beck & others either last year or the year before,if memory serves me correctly.

Z Hillclimbing Video
I have no doubt about it, I've come across a lot of zeds already. I wonder if it might be sensible to create a forum for the S-30 and varients on Y'tube?

Z Hillclimbing Video
Carl, In Oz, these events are run at a State & National level. In Victoria (where I reside) the events are sanctioned by CAMS and are run as multi club events. There are approximately 5 usable sites with a further 3 under investigation for this year. The most famous is the Rob Roy Hill Climb run by the MG Car Club www.mgcc.com.au/robroy/index.shtml Lengths of course vary as do the number of races per year (generally 5-6 per year, but that is dependant on clubs finding qualified officials). They are not covered by TV, however, I have seen a some on youtube. HIH Mike

Correct Color Of Tailight Panel Nd Grill?
Well, I guess the solution might be to go to a Nissan Dealer and order the correct paint, there couldn't be any argument then (or could there)?

Correct Color Of Tailight Panel Nd Grill?
True, but we are discussing a shade of gray, aren't we? Any colour pic's, Alan?

Valve Problem
After giving a simple answer in a previous thread, I'm treading carefully here. It appears that the cam towers may need shimming, most machinist's usually set up the valve train after machining. YOurs may not have. There is no simple answer as you may need to adjust the valve train geometery using cam tower shims and different size lash pads. Have you changed cams, this may have contributed to your problem?

Correct Color Of Tailight Panel Nd Grill?

Timing Cover Quick Question
Well, he should have stated that in this post. Mis-information will only provide useless answers. Nuff said....

Correct Color Of Tailight Panel Nd Grill?
What an interesting thread! I always thought that the grill was black (perhaps, it was/is on HS models)? Is it possible that different colours where supplied for different markets? MOM

Timing Cover Quick Question
Why not? He only asked if he needed to drain the oil. If he knows what he is doing then it is simple as that. (Apart from the obvious, such a removeing the radiator, pully, lower pan bolts etc, which was never asked) If he doesn't then he may as well pull the engine to start with, not forgetting to order a new head gasket etc. etc. Why make a 2 hour job into an all weekend marathon? FWIW keep it simple.

Timing Cover Quick Question
You don't need to drain the oil.

240Z Parts Variations
Alan, if you create the RHD list, I can stickie it in the History Forum. That should create enough interest in someone moving on the LHD side. Cheers Mike

240Z Parts Variations
Happy New Year to you all! I see the usual bantering is still in progress!!!! I've had my head down and away from the site, however History always interests me and I awakened from that sleep to discover this thread. A suggestion has been made to Sticky the thread. Do you want this entire thread "stickied"? or would you like a new thread with a Welcome annoucement? Cheers An awakened Zedrally.....

Mike, or anyone else
I don't see any point to this being added to the site, in fact I feel it is offensive to have your personal opinion reputinized!

Newbie with Carburetor questions
This is another possibility which is that the idle mixture is set to rich. This is the one mixture adjustment that can be done to these carbs without ripping the whole lot apart. From memory it's the large 1/2" spring loaded bolt. You may be just running rich, FWIW and worth looking at. Do you have a FSM, that will explain the procedure required to tune-up. MOM

Newbie with Carburetor questions
The carbs you have are flat tops and have an integral float. The bad news is that you will need to dis-assemble just to adjust the float level. Before you do this, it would be wise to find an overhaul kit. Serch for flat top carbs, there a a few of us that still use them....
