Water cooled intake???
Well the theory is right, you would need to richen the mixture as well. As to how much you would gain, would the expense of the setup make it viable? FWIW MOM

Classic Motorsports "top 10" Japanese Race Cars of all time!
Alan, I'm surprised that you haven't included a "works" rally car! Or would that be best left as a different thread?

If anyone is testing this method, could you also try a clear coat and report back on how the finish, finished?

VERY INTERESTING THREAD ABOUT PAINTING WITH A ROLLER.-Hybridz
When I first read this I immediately thought it was the 1st of April, now having digested it a little more I can see some advantages. Spray painting gives a relatively thin coat of paint whilst any type of handpainting (roller or brush) would certainly have a thicker coat. Surely this would be an advantage?

Heritage Certificate
If my memory serves me right, Kats had a thread going about the 1st 500 zeds, in which he was given some official documents from "someone" in the know. Perhaps all is not lost, just mearly not on hand! MOM

Hello! Jani from Finland
As Victor wrote, we were tighter on ZX's. But they didn't have anywhere else to go, so I guess we can only be of assistance in areas of similarity. It may be time to give them a separate forum as we did with the "K's"? Welcome aboard anyway, I doubt we can be of much assistance apart from enigine & transmission areas.

240z Front Hub
OK, for future reference. The hubs are different. 240 is 17mm thick rotor is 40mm 260 is 24mm thick rotor is 33mm Both have the same overall measurements and a 240 hub complete with disc rotor fits on a 260 strut.

240z Front Hub
Ah, another idea. If there is a 10mm offset then could I compensate by using the corresponding caliper? MOM

240z Front Hub
Thanks, I'm thinking that I might just rebuild the 240 strut and save myself some grief. MOM

240z Front Hub
A terra trip is a rally trip or distance meter. Has anyone got access to part nums? If so are they the same?
-
240z Front Hub
Is it interchangable with a 260 hub? I'm beefing up the front stut with 260 struts and need to know as I have a terra trip probe mounted on the fount strut. The probe has 2 bolts secured onto the hub which acts as a trigger and rather than modify the 260 hub, I would rather swap them over. Can I use the 240 hub on the 260 strut? TIA

Valve part # & $
Ed, I can't help you with part#'s, but seriously consider having your head re-built by a head specialist. Not only will you need valves, but you may also have bent valve guides (I did) which need pressing out. How are your valve seats? Some, not all of mine needed replacing, which didn't concern me at the time as they were still the original brass. All up cost wasn't as expensive as I excpeted. Also that d=tapered dowell that gave way should be replaced with a new one.Make some enquires first before you go down this path, I did and I'm glad I sent the job out. FWIW MOM

From good to bad in .1 seconds
Hi Gav & others. The locating pin is known as the dowell. It's tapered and pressed into the camshaft. When it becomes loose, it can move out of the cam into the sprocket and create all sorts of problems (as Ed & myself can testify too). This usually occurs when you plant your foot to floor! I've never found any reference in the FSM which suggests you check the security of this item, so after 30 or so years it may be a good idea to include it in your regular maintenance. FWIW MOM

From good to bad in .1 seconds
Yep, happened to me 6 or so years ago. The tapered dowel gave way with a resultant tap, tap ,tap and loss of power. From that day onwards, every time I have the cover off the head, first thing I checked was the security of the dowel. Hopefully there is no piston damage, apart from a nick or two, but you have a major job coming up on the head. What can I say? Apart from advising all that read this thread to CHECK your dowel regularly. MOM
