Terrible Vendor--Datsun Parts
Ok, looking at some of the pics of the dented rear end, and remembering the hood, and (i think) drivers side floor dent, im now asking.... "is that car a good candidate for a restoration?" I've seen straighter bodies sitting around in the desert for $200-400. Maybe it would be better to buy one, and build it back up.

How It Starts - Friends Think You're Crazy!!
I have a buddy who never wore a seat belt, claiming that he would just get thrown clear. Mind you, he is a big, thick skulled German, who had twice, TWICE, been hit by cars while bicycling and gone through the windshield without a helmet. Actually, one time he hit a parked car, and went through the back window. :stupid: Then he got married, and had a kid. His wife made him start wearing his seat belt because "if you get in a wreak, you'll just be a projectile in the car".

I also recommend keeping the windows rolled down, and not locking the doors. This greatly improves your odds of walking away scratch free

:bulb: don't wear your seat belt, that way you will be thrown clear of the wreak instead of trapped in the mangled pile of steel.

You should paint the entire car like a "Tora, tora, tora" Zero. Mount some fake machine guns on the hood, and American flags under the driver side door for every "kill". http://www.schultzairshows.com/tora.jpg Oh, and if anyone EVER cuts you off, you scream "BANZI!!!!", step on the loud pedal, and ram him.

yellow series one on Ebay
I wonder if the wiper motor is any good? :bulb: Im thinking that one of those wheels off the yellow one would make a nice spare for me.

Tail light mods
If, IF!!!! I was going to mod my tail lights, I'd go with something round, to balance the round headlights... maybe pull it off a 69 'vette But I can understand your desire to spoof up the rear end.... thats all they are gonna see

71 0n ebay
Thats a LOT of work and money. Even $300 (reserve not met) seems.. I dunno.... nuts. You looking at THOUSANDS of dollars for the interior alone. I think that for $2000-3000 you can find a better starting point, that will cost you less in the long run. I look at those pics and think "parts". Except it's missing a lot of the good parts. Point of reference: I paid $2,600 for my '70 240Z last summer. Check out my gallery for what that bought me.

Can I flip stock mirrors...
Well those look a hell of a lot better then the black plastic things on my Z now. And cheaper then the stock ones. I just looked again at courtesy and it says they are a special order item, and make take 3 months to deliver. Things that make you go hmmm....

Can I flip stock mirrors...
Thanks for the replies! Dave, how did you grind down the base? I've only got a hand held metal grinder, not a big table one. Think that will work? Is the base solid? Im still up in the air if I wanna do this, or go with fender mirrors, but I hate the ones that are on the car now. Black plastic just doesn't look right on such a retro car. Since I have the 240Z brain trust here, I've got another question. My Z has the original metal wiper arms (very classy), but the blades are black. I looked at a couple local parts stores, but couldn't find any matching blades. Any suggestions? Thanks again

Can I flip stock mirrors...
.. and put them on the right side of the car? I bought my 1970 Z with aftermarket mirrors on both side of the car. I see that I can still get the stock mirror. Can I get 2, flip one, and mount it on the passanger side? I was planning on getting them from here... http://www.courtesyparts.com/mirror-assembly-for-left-hand-driver-side-1970-1973-s30-p-568980.html?cPath=7724_7759& or do they make a right hand mirror that matches the stock one? Thanks!
