Hello! I think I may have picked up the wrong 20/30 amp relay. Does anyone have a part # for the correct one? Thanks!

Honda wiper motor failure
I did the Honda wiper motor swap as described by Zs-ondabrain. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28989&page=2 I tested it, buttoned everything up, re-tested and called it a day. Fast foreword a month, it finally rains out here in Tucson, I hit wiper switch and.... nothing. Fuse is good and all the connections look tight. Using my 12 volt tester I find there is power at the fuse box, and at the 20/30 amp 12 volt relay. Advice? Suggestions? Thanks!

Kanji found when removing a dash
I remember seeing Brian "The Boz" Bozworths autobiography. Thanks to the boosters at OU he got a summer job on the assembly line at a GM plant. He had great fun welding loose nuts and bolts into the fender wells so that the car would always have a rattle that could never be fixed.

Tach Issues
Well, I can't say that I was paying too much attention, but I do live in Tucson AZ, and it is summer. Im guessing 100+ F. I'll pay more attention next time it happens. Can I replace the (flux) capacitor? What happens if I hit 88mph?

Tach Issues
No sticking. 80% of the time it seems to be working properly. Once in a blue moon it reads high, only 1 or 2 times has it been pegged while the motor is at idle. As soon as I shut it off it goes back to zero.

Tach Issues
Thanks to both of you! EScanlon: I did read your thread, i'd love to see how it ends It looks like I can get a tach on Ebay for cheaper then $185. Much cheaper, but I guess I'd be taking a chance as to it's working condition. Gotta think about this....

Tach Issues
Anyone? Bueller? Is this a symptom of the tach failing mechanically, or does it sound like a electrical problem? Can the tach be rebuilt/fixed or do I need a replacement?

Tach Issues
The Car: 1970 240Z w/ automatic transmission The problem: Sometimes the tach works fine, some times it reads 2-3k higher then what the motor sounds like it is running at, sometimes it it is just pegged. The answer: <fill-in-the-blank>. Thanks, any advice or even a good place to start would be helpfull. BTW: I did search for "tach" and came up with 4 pages of stuff. Didn't really find what I was looking for.

Fiberglass Dash (DIY)
I went to PDK's website. The dash looks good, but "no air vents or glove box".

Dashboard cap removal?
It''s definitly not held on with velcro. Yeah, thats what Im worried about. I was thinking about heating it up, maybe by putting it out in the hot Tucson sun for a hour, but I think RTV has a really high melting point. I'd like to keep the orginal dash in as good as shape as possible in case I use it as a mold for a new dash. Can anyone say carbon fiber?

Meet the Tarmac (and his Z)
Hello! After a pretty long search, I finally found and bought a 1971 240Z. I looked at several 260s, 280s, and even a 280ZX before finding this car sitting in a hanger out in the desert. It's a CA car, has a auto transmission, and looks like the old owner (ex-Navy fighter jock and McDonald-Douglas test pilot) took good care of it untill his health started failing. I don't think the car had been moved in a decade before I found it. The good: The car looks complete, and stock. It's been re-painted (looks like a good job) from the original mustard to a nice "go-faster" red. The car runs nicely, and holds a steady idle. The radiator and alternator look like they have been recently replaced. Comes with a knee high stack shop manuels, some spare parts and a nice cover. The bad: rust on both dog legs. Windshield wiper motor blown. Leaking reducer hose between the radiator and heater. Battery dead. weird electrical problems (lights sometimes work, sometimes dont). Tires badly dry rotted. Lots of dry rotting rubber. Dash board has a hard plastic cap installed, cap is cracked. Missing rear carpet, front carpets trashed. Horn inop. more to be discovered. My goal for the car is to make a nice little Saturday night/Sunday morning car. Since the vehicle is pretty much stock, i'd like to keep it as close as possible, but Im not going to get to weird about it. Anyhoo, Im certain i'll be posting here a lot in the coming months/years. Thanks! The Tarmac... where the rubber meets the road! 007.jpg

Dashboard cap removal?
My "new" 240Z came with a hard plastic cap on the bash board. I assume it's covering up a cracked dashboard. The problem is that the cap now has a crack! I've ordered a new cap, but need to remove the old. Im assuming that the cap is held on with RTV, any idea how to tackle this without doing even more damage to the dash? Thanks!
