  1. I would like to have some detail also. I have the same on mine. They seem to be shorter than stock spring when unload. But once load, I was wondering if it would lower the car since the spring rate could be higher..... Thanks to the person that could solve this mystery...:classic:
  2. Wep those are the same ratio. See this link http://zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/GearRatios.html Still searching for some answers....
  3. Hi, There is a part number on the ampco strut. I haven't note them yesterday but I had done my research and the part number refer to an ajustable suspension option. For the spring, no parts number on them. They are probably 4 inch shorter that oem one. This set was purchase in the late 70 or early 80. For the suspension, I'm sur they are the datsun comp parts. I'm still looking to find somthing on the transmission that will help me confirm me it it a C/R. I have in hand a work order of what have been done with all the part number. But in 30 years, it could have been change. If I refer to the work order and all the other performance part that was install, the work order was correct since other part such as the 7qt oil pan and the robert twice pipe exhaust system was pretty easy to identify. But those transmission look all the same in the late70
  4. Here are some formthe rear brake disc (could need some cleaning I know)
  5. Here are some frome the suspension.
  6. Pics of the transmission Notice the competition "S" type shifter. Unfortunatly, the thread end has been cut....:stupid: You'll see alos that it is stamp on the cast #4 231..... does anyone know what it mean?
  7. It's a R200. I'll try to take a few pictures tonight.
  8. Hi, Too many projects going at the same time as a result that I'll have to let go a few parts in order to complete my 240Z. - Datsun comp Ampco coilover set-up. I'll post the part number tonight. This is not the option for rally. In very good condition. Minor surface rust at some place. Thread are perfect. From the BSR catalogue, parts number are 54302-E4624 for the front and 55302-E4621 for the rear. Spring that come with them are the following: Front spring: 54010-E4621 : Spring/F 218 Lbs/In Rear spring 55020-E4621 : Spring/R 271 Lbs/In - Datsun comp 5 speed transmission FS5C71B C/R. gear are: 1st: 2.906 / 2nd: 1.902 / 3rd: 1.308 / 4th: 1.00 / 5: 0.864 From the BSR catalogue, parts number is 32010-N3200. This was on a running 240Z. It was install in the early eighties. It was on a road car but was racing occasionnaly in week end. I won't open the transmission as this out of my knowledge. - Datsun com 4.111 differential with limited slip. From the BSR catalogue, parts number is 38300-N3615. I can open the cover for this one and take some pictures. Was install on the same car as the transmission. - GT2 4 wheel disc brake system. Rear and front drill vented disc. I'll take some measurement to see if those disc are not to wear. From the BSR catalogue, parts number are as following: Front Galiper: 99996-E7005 Rear Galiper: 99996-E7105 Rotor: 99996-E7121 I don't have picture right now and will be posting in the classified section also shorlty. I'm posting now to collect question you could have in order to have the add with the best possible info. Thoses are pretty nice part. Very hard to settle a price. I you have any info of how much they we're sold lately let me know. Tks, Joce
  9. the car is 99% rust free. I got surfcae rust under the battery tray. This is suppose to be a white with blue interior. The interior is now black. Done by the PO It's a non matching motor number also. It's a L24 with a E88 but the vin number on the motor does'nt match the plate number in the engine bay, So this is why i'm starting to think that this car will never have it's true value unleass I invest a lot of $. I can do the metal work and body work. This is what I would like to do with it.
  10. I'll try to do this short. I got an 1970 240z Vin # in the 25.. (Dont remember the exact number) I got it from California and it's now in Quebec, Canada. I'ts been sitting in the chicken barn for 19 years! It need a very good refreshment on paint and mecanic. Motor is #1. I'Ve been stripping the paint and notice that it has been hit in the back. I had ½ inch of bundo at some place. The quarter are not that bad but the complete far end will cut and replace by a nice on I have. Damages are mainly around the rear lights and under the bumper. Beside that, the PO had the good idea to install some mold splash guard. He cut a 1/8 line of around 8 inch long in the quarter to install them... I don't have 20k or 30k to invest in it to bring it to show standard but I'm looking for a nice weed end ride. Now my point is that since the quarters are damage and the rear end will be change, would some ZG flare properly install devrease the low vin value of the car? I got a set of old school ROH 15x9 wheel that would be very ncie with ZG flares. Thanks for your opinion, Joce

Anyone seenthis car? Really nice paint I'll have to say Item number: 250542813898 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250542813898&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en
  15. Got it. I've been able to twist enough with a screw driver so that the pin was clear. Good thing this is to be able to paint the car and was not done on a fresh painted car!
  16. Any tips on how to open the gaz door of a series 1 without having the keys.... The key I have for the ignition won't match the lock on the gaz door. Thanks for your help! Joce
  17. Tire size is 205/50/15. I've install them on the car and are flush with the fender. But it will certainly need higher wall. I think John is right. The car use to be a week end race car.
  18. Thanks for your opinion. I'll check tonight and post the tire size which will probably confirm that they're too small. I like those wheels and wil probably try to install them on my 240z which doesn't have no flare. So will try them with no spacer.
  19. This is a car I got last year after the garage it was in burn.......... you don't want to see the picture of what was left. Anyway, I'm installing all the mecanical parts on my 240z and I was hesitating on those set of wheel. On the car, it had flare and 1 inch spacer on the wheel. Wheels are 15 inch. Don't remember the tire size... But it look like something is wrong........... is it the wheel that it too small? Tires too small for the flare........... or the red color? :stupid: Just want to know your opinio on this. Thanks, Joce

Can someone help me finding more detail on this oil cooler kit? The remote filter is a Moroso brand but can't find nothing more. Thanks in advance! Joce
  23. First of all, sorry for the time to reply. I took a week off and now paying the price badly at work I've work a lot to cut the shell in parts requested but I prolably don't have all the correct tools. Cost be a few blades to get the windshield frame off. Tried to cut the dogleg or the rockers but didn't work very well and theses parts wasn't in rest free condition. What left is the windshield frame (see picture) and the spare tire section. Both are in very condition and would like to find a nice home.
  24. Thanks for the advise. I'll open the cover in a few weeks to what it is actualy. Been installed almost 30 years ago, so could have been change since. I have a receipt that there is a close ratio 5 speed from Datsun Comp and it appear it is true. So probably the same thing fot the differential.
  25. HI, Wanted to check what gear I have in differential this morning. So I started to block one half shaft with a bar and attempt to turn the other side half shaft........ I did all I could but it would never turn. Not even an inch.... So I've removed the bar from the half shaft and started turning the two half shaft together 10 turns. Result on the drive shaft is 41 turns. Can I confirm I have a 4.11 gear? Since I wasn't able to block on half shaft, is this related that it could be a LSD unit? If I refer to an old invoice (early 80), it should be a 4.11 R200 with a LSD. But nothing on the differential can confirm me that. Can someone help me on this. Thanks, Joce
