I got the 21300-E4100 kit if someone is interested. Hoses will need to be change but the rest is in good condition. PM me if someone want to buy it. Joce
  2. HI all, I'm in the process of cutting the parts requested. I will be sending some picture shortly. I won't be letting go any mecanical parts for know. I have to keep them for spare if needed for my 1970 240z project. The only parts that I will be selling are the Datsun comp 7 qt oil pan and a remote filter with oil cooler assembly. I post them here before putting them on ebay. Joce
  3. Air dam was damage............... it's in 3 piece now. Want to have for rebuilt? It's a nice Bob Sharp mode.
  4. For now, I'm only letting go the structural parts since I need to get the shell out this week end to clear the place. I have to keep all the others parts for the "just in case" since i'm rebuilding my other 240Z and don't know right now all I needed to complete everything. Joce
  5. So tried to take some picture but battery was dead..... Anyway, I test al the parts with my bodywork hammer (don't know the correct word in english) and check for solidity. Driver side dogleg has an inch hole in the complete bottom. Almost underneath the car. Passenger side dog leg is in good condition. Driver rocker is in good condition (under the driver door) Will hitting around te battery tray, 2 holes of one inch big appear. Rest seem ok. Windshield frame is in perfect condition all around. Wheel well are upper rail are in ok condition on both side Windshield motor compartment is in good condition and firewall also. Sorry if it's not as clean as I first mention. Hammer test made me discover a few things but confirmed that other section were good.
  6. The fire damage was on the passenger paint and the upper inside (roof liner, plastic parts ect.). What is the driver side door pin? Is it the door hinge? Six shooter: Driver dogleg is for you. Please indicate me where you want me to cut it. For all other good parts, they are now all over the floor in the garage. I'll start by getting ride of the shell and see after what I'll be using for my project. I'll keep you inform if some parts won't be needed. I'll try to take a few pictures tonight.
  7. Here what the car use to look like. You don't want to see what it look like right now........ sad day for a Z....
  8. Jim: I hold them for you. Note the front suspension mount hole has been enlarge for a camber plate installation. Same thing for the rear wheel well
  9. Hi everone, I just finish dissamble a 1972 240Z that was in a garage that burn this summer. I was going to send the shell to the wreck but would like to offer some parts here if it could be usefull to somebody. Roof is not good and I have to keep the end section (quaters, hatch sill and lower section) and the radiator section The following parts are in nearly rust free condition: - Firewall - wiper compartement - dog leg (not sure of the correct name but this is the section were the door hinge are mounted) This is a rust free part even at the bottom! - Spare tire section - Transmission tunnel - Floor pan seem to in good condition ut not sure at 100%. I'll have to check if somebody is interest. - Front rail seem ok but the steel is separating near the swaybar mounted. Not sure is usable this way or could be fix. But if your going in the process in changing the rails, should have a etter one (my 2¢ only) Can send a picture if some parts can find a good home. Will be cutting everything in parts this week end. Everything is free y the way. Joce
  10. true I'll post a picture tonight but it definetly look like the R200 in your picture.
  11. oh oh....... I'm getting mix up! Check the following link http://www.geocities.com/bry593/diffswap/diffswap.htm Here is a copy of what that wesite is stating: "At first glance, the assemblies look very similar. However, the R-200 on the right has a wider center, offset toward the driver’s side. To accommodate the offset, Datsun engineers designed the driver’s side halfshaft 3/8” to 7/16" shorter than the passenger side. For this reason, be careful not to mix these up and don’t use R-180 shafts on an R-200."
  12. Thanks. The housing is offset on the driver side. I guess this confirm it's a R200. Next is the found out what the gear in it. I'll try counting turn tonight. Is there a way to know if it's a LSD without opening the differentiel? It doesn't have a vent cover. Is this how you identify them?
  13. Hi, Drop the differential last night and notice the part number on top which is: 38311 N3100 Been searching around to found out from which model it is and can't find nothing. Help would be appreciated since I wan't to change a few seal and gasket. Thanks as usual, Joce
  14. You'll be the first on list if I decide to let the exhaust go!!! But I bought the car for 2 main reason which are the exhaust and the 4 disc assembly. Can't say you didn't try!
  15. For economical reason.............I will stay with the SU..... As you all probably know, theses projects take a lot of $$$ to braing back in decent condition and I'm doing my best to avoid taking money out of my pocket (read family pocket). So selling parts for futur purchase is the best way I found to keep a good relationship!!! Few others parts will be going when available such as the baffle oil pan and remote filter with oil cooler, Motorsport racing rollbar and a few other things. Joce
  16. Well I won't have to think about any longer... Done a Leak down test on the L28 and it appear that the head nead to be rebuilt and that one cylinder is leaking pressure from the rings. Done the leak test on the L24 and average of 5% leak on all 6 cylinders and done a compression test also and they are all between 174-176 of pressure. The L28 is a F54 with flat piston so will probably keep it and rebuilt it some day... So here are the parts I will be swapping form the 72 to the 70: - 4 wheel Hurst/Airheart disc brake system - Electronic distributor - 280Zx Alternator - Performance coil and Wire - Datsun perfomance 5 speeds close ratio transmission - Datsun performance 4.11 LSD diff - Coilover with Illumina and F218/R271 springs - Performance front and rear swaybar - Performance clutch - ROH 15" Wheel (will be painted "grahite") - Clifford SS headers 3-2 with twice pipe exhaust This should be a very fun winter
  17. Should use a test light and a friend to turn the key to see at different connection if power is there. Start by the easiest which is the starter and go all the way up to the ignition key. I'm no expert but I think you could nail the probelm this way. Joce
  18. Thanks John. So if anyone want to trade a Eibach/Tokico HP kitnew in box against a set of Illumina, send me a PM.

Here are some pictures of that exhaust system. Sorry for the quality, flash on the camera is broken.... If anyone need some measurements, I'll be happy to help! Joce
  20. Here is a picture of the coil over. I have also a picture with the coil over spring compare to Eibach Prokit spring. For your information, Front Spring/R is 218 Lbs/In and rear Spring/R is 271 Lbs/In on the cowl over set up. I've measure the cowl over spring and they measure 9.5 inch. The strut seam to be the same lenght than standard one. So know my questions are: Can I ride with the standart Tokico HP shock with the coil over spring set up? Would this ridable on the street (This is a week end car)? Thanks in advance for your input. Joce

Should remove the engine next week. Will post a picture once remove.
  22. I'll take a picture tonight. For you info, those are the part number: Front: 54302-E4624 / Rear strut: 55302-E4621 from an old Datsun competition catalog. If someone would have the spec of theses, would be enven better than a picture. I've been searching about coil over and from what I understand, (if strut is not shorthened) those are standard strut with thread added. If so, I could install my standard Eibach spring with Tokico HP? I read that the Eiach spring lowered the car from ±1.5 inch. With the threated strut, could I get an additonnal inch?
  23. I've measure the coilover set up strut and my standard strut and they're the same. The only thing that seem different is the springs. The springs on the coilover set up is about 6 inch shorter than the Eibach prokit. Both measure unloaded. This is not for track use. Just to lower the car.
  24. Hi, Can standard Tokico HP be install with coil over strut? I've purchase those shock initaly to go with Eibach Springs but I have the chance to have a full set of coil over. Thanks Joce
  25. after some research on a translation site  .... brevettato mean "Patents" So the question is: " Does Italian Weber worth more than later one"?
