Hey garofalory, i know you said you did not want a 280 however i know where there is a sweet looking 280 in carlsbad that has rod knock, that you can get for really low price $500.00. Running, no rust, check out member nix280z. Just a thought in case you change your mind.....
  2. So Guys I'm A New Member But I Have Been Reading Some Post Here For Assistance, And I Think I Have A Similar Problem As Edmo's Post Earlier This Year. Anyhow Here Gos, My 76 280 Idles Fine Then About 15-20 Min Into A Drive It Bogs Down And And Gags And Then Picks Up And Then Bogs Down Again And Again I Think It's Fuel Starved. If I Pull Over And Sit Long Enough To Smoke One Cig Start The Car It's Fine For Another 15 - 20 Min. As The Car Sat For Ten Years My First Idea Was Gas Tank Rust As I Could Hear The Fuel Pump Go From The Normal Hum To A Realy Loud Hum, However With The Loud Hum I Get Under Car And The Hum Is Not Comming From The Pump But The Hose Comming Out Of The Pump, It's Vibrating, So I Removed Gas Tank Hosed It Until I Saw Not Rust Or Crud. Noticed No Filter In Pump Replaced It, Replace Fuel Pressure Regulator, And Fuel Filter. Air Hosed The Lines From The Pump Forward Line Is Not Obstructed. I Noticed In The Carfiche Manual There Is Supposed To Be A Fuel Dampener Between The Pump And The Filter But I Can't Find One Maybe My Car Is Not Supposed To Have One As My Local Nissan Dealer Was No Help As To Info On The Subject. I Also Went After The Usual Suspects , Valve Ajustment, Rotor, Cap, Wires, Plugs, Which Were Fowled, So I Had My Local Mech Ajust The Airflow Meter And Do A Inline Pressure Test No Help. Now Heres Were I Really Get Frustated The Car Sat In Storage From 95 To O5 We I Got It, From 05 To 08 The Engine Ran Great, Crud Rust And No Filter, Last Night I Took Her Out For A Spin And When I Got The Abnormal Hum I Pull Over Disconnect The Intake To The Pump For A Second And Reconnect And The Noise Gos Away For Another Short While. My Hope Is Maybe I Didn't Get All The Rust Out, However Why Would The Rust Only Clog Under Driving And Not In Idle, My Next Attack Is Going To Be Run The Fuel Lines To A External Tank In The Car And Drive It, But My Real Hope Is That Someone Has Exprienced This And Can Help????????????
