Undercoating my 73 240z
Well, my car had very little rust---most was surface rust. I used a drill with a wire brush to take most of the surface rust off, used some naval jelly to eat it up; then painted over. Small bits of surface rust can be killed with paint though.

Check out these Rims...Good Deal?
I noticed that...and while these seem like a decent deal, i'm not going to move on them. They aren't really what i'm looking for. I actually really like the ones i have currently (American Racing Outlaw II's) - although i'm always keeping my eyes open for rims that I really like. If I had the money, I'd get some Watanabe's, although there's no way I'd justify spending that kinda dough.

Who has 14x7 Applance slots or Konig Rewinds on a 240Z?
Arne, you're current rims are SWEET. Let me know if you decide to sell em.

Undercoating my 73 240z
I've used some rubberized undercoating sold at the local auto parts store. Goes on easy and works really well. Great for covering rust as well to stop it in it's tracks. Any of the brands should be fine. The stuff I got costs about 7 bucks a can. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=MMM&MfrPartNumber=03584&CategoryCode=3280 Here's a picture of the wheel well of my car undercoated.

Iridium Spark Plugs
The guy who told me was a mechanic that worked on classic cars...maybe he buys a bit much into the hype of certain products. Thanks for the insight guys!

Air Intake Canister VS. Stock Box
While I am a fan of keeping my car stock, I wanted to touch on the subject of the air intake box on the stock 280z. Does the stock setup restrict air flow versus using one of the K&N canister type air intake tip filters? I currently use the K&N filter for stock air intake box. Would this be about the same (intake wise)? Thanks!

Iridium Spark Plugs
What are your thoughts on Iridium Spark Plugs? I was originally going to put them in my Z months back (was told they improve performance) but ended up going with the NGK Stock Plugs. Would iridium plugs make much of a difference?

EBAY Parts Lot Auction
It really depends on what it gets up to. I'm sure you can part it out as well and make most of your money back (after taking what you would need) --- Unfortunately for me, I have a 75' so the bumpers don't really go to my model.

Creaky Clutch
My recent escapade with adjusting my clutch has gone great! There is one thing now. Over the past day or so, my clutch (which is stiff, great!) has started making a Creaky sound when I let up on it. It sounds like an old creaky door opening. This hasn't effected the clutch/performance at all, but sounds kinda weird. Has anyone experienced this? Could it most likely be fixed with some WD40 or grease? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

NOS bumpers, butterscotch seats, 2400 ohc cover (and car)
Taillights, Dashboard, misc. engine parts, stock radio, steering wheel, knobs, and those rims (nice, i like)... this would make a great parts car. Other than that, too damaged IMO to think about restoring.

Media Blasting Resurrection of the Horns
Hey DeesZ - Kickass job on those parts. Man that really knocks the rust out.

280z Dual Exhaust?
***UPDATE*** I sold the ANSA tips on ebay after deciding it wasn't going to work. I have my eye on the fluted/stock dual twin-pipe exhaust MSA sells. Any feedback/reviews on these?

Media Blasting Resurrection of the Horns
Deesz, what other parts would you consider blasting? My master brake cylinder is in need of a blasting, but would you consider actually doing this for pay? I wonder if it would even be worth blasting the surface rust of the MBC. Let me know.

Media Blasting Resurrection of the Horns
Ah ok, cool. I wondered where the horns went in the S30's. Anyone ever replace the stock horns with something a little louder...like an air horn or something as equally loud? I've considered it just to get the attention of dumbass drivers on their cellphone so they don't merge into my beautiful paintjob.

Media Blasting Resurrection of the Horns
Geezer: Yes. I wasn't sure if those are the horns (for honking) or some other part...

Media Blasting Resurrection of the Horns
Where are these "horns" located, and what are they? Pardon my ignorance

240z Crackfree dash on e-bay
FWIW, it's better to go the cheaper route in fixing what you currently have, then obsessing over the imperfections of your Z and spending lots of money. I went through a similar obsession with fixing my cracked dash a few months ago. I got it done, and it looks better (spent about 50 bucks to do it) --- but it was a major headache, and in the end i have it covered up with a fabric dash cover that I had on there before I even repaired it. I'm glad I got it fixed, but thats one of those things you'll be happy with for a few days, then kind of forget about a week later. No sense in dropping some big moola on something like that, especially because you won't really ever make it back.

240z Crackfree dash on e-bay
Damn!!! Those really do get expensive. What is the condition of your current dashboard? You might consider repairing it; it will cost you a lot less than this one; although it will take a bit of blood and sweat to get it done. If you are going for showroom quality, maybe that isn't the right path for you.

HELP! Clutch grinding, very stiff 1st shift!
***UPDATE*** Problem fixed. I replaced the Slave cylinder, and after bleeding it...the problem was still there. Grinding reverse and tough 1st. After checking under the dash, and tightening the bolt (rod movement) like Curtis mentioned turned out to be the real issue. The bolt was loose, causing for little clutch movement with the full range push-down of the clutch. I think this was the problem all along. The old slave was probably fine, but I'm keeping it for when I need it in the future. I guess the $17.00 posed for a good experience in learning about 280z clutch. Thanks for all the advice guys, I'd be lost without ya's!

HELP! Clutch grinding, very stiff 1st shift!
I don't think advance auto parts carried the hose, but i will inspect it and replace it if i find any problems with it. The slave/hose was clean before i bled it, so i doubt it is leaking; perhaps just the slave itself failed. As for the Master, I believe they make 2 or 3 different ones. Considering i have a November 1975 Z, I will have to buy the Master that is 6/75 and on. Any suggestions for a particular brand outside of OEM? We'll see.
