Has anyone got any suggestions about speakers for a 280z? My husband got me 2 box speakers for Xmas a couple of years ago. They sound fine but they really take up a lot of space. I saw some that are built into the back of a 240z but the back of the 240 is deeper. Help!

Thanks to the guys that showed up their beautiful Zcars yesterday at the Ventura Harbor! It was windy and colder than we'd have liked but our little Zcar show was a success and a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it and hope to do it again next month when it will be warmer and probably get some of you guys from the Valley because it'll be boiling out there by then.

Come on out to the Ventura Harbor tomorrow. We don't care if your Z is car-show perfect, a work in progress or not in great shape. If your Z will make it out there, you'll be welcome. After all, we all love our Z's, whatever shape they're in. I got a wealth of information from Mike and we're all looking forward to sharing info, stories and fun. Ventura Harbor at 11am, Sunday May 23rd. Exit 101 at Seward, turn left. Left again at Harbor Bl. Right on Spinnaker and right into the parking lot by Andreas' Seafood. Hope to see you guys there.

All Zcar owners are invited to a get-together at 11am at Ventura Harbor, by Andreas' Seafood Restaurant and Fish Market. I'm trying to start an informal Zcar club in Ventura County. Anyone who would like to come is welcome. If you live in the Valley, LA, whatever and want to take a drive, you should come. We don't care what shape your Z is in, whether it's a work in progress or a show-stopper, come down and take a look at other Z cars, have a chat with other Z owners. Share you Z stories and useful information with other Zcar enthusiasts. Going north- get off the 101 Fwy at Seward Ave. Go left to Harbor Blvd, turn left. Turn right on Spinnaker and then right into the parking lot of Ventura Harbor Village, by Andreas. Going south- get off the 101 at Seward Ave. Go right and then follow the directions above.

It was fun! I'm surprised those silly Ferraris wanted to park by us since we clearly outshone them. You can see Mikes red 260z (what a little beauty) and my silver 280z in the 4th picture, above, in the last post. Come on out to the Ventura Harbor next weekend. We don't care if your Z is car-show perfect, a work in progress or not in great shape. If your Z will make it out there, you'll be welcome. After all, we all love our Z's, whatever shape they're in. 7. In the 23 years I've owned my 280z, it's never left me stranded. I did however back into a flower bed in a parking lot and get stuck once. I put in a call to AAA and while I was waiting with my son, who was about 9, a girl came up and started yelling to all the guys in the parking lot and they all came over and lifted my car enough so I could pull out. We were all so pleased and excited, then the tow truck showed up.

How did you fix the cracked dash? I have a couple of really deep ones on my dash. I know they sell dash covers but thought if I got one of those, it might not sit flat because the edges of the cracks are higher than the rest of the dash.

Hey, how do put a picture like 260zCaliCar has on here? It looks really cool.

That is a great story. I hope you get your Z restored to your ideal! I've had my '78 280z for 22 or 23 years. His unofficial name is Z BEBE. They can be a bit tempermental and he's been a brat but after spending years stored in a garage, he was so happy to be out and be refurbished that he's been running like a champ. My husband gets me presents for him, Christmas and my birthday, he knows how much I love that car! A couple of Christmas' ago, he got me a door hinge (the car looked great but when I got in or out, it would go -Clunk, really loud) I'd gotten my husband an ipod and disguised it in a big box with bottles of hand lotion to weigh it down. I opened my box and saw this metal thing and thought he'd just dumped some metal thing out of the garage in there to trick me. I looked thru the box, frantic to find what my actual present was. Then I sat there holding the big metal thing, apparently looking dumbfounded, while my hubby looked happy and proud, finally my son said,"it's a hinge for the Z!" Thus ending the stale-mate of confusion.

How are we going to find eachother next weekend at Topanga and Erwin? I'm planning to go and be there as close to 9am as I can. I guess we just look for Z cars, eh? I may be overthinking this thing, I'm picturing a huge parking lot with a million cars.

I'll try to make it next week. You know what the good thing about Ventura is? It doesn't get hot there! I was thinking about 11am at the Ventura Harbor on the 23rd, there shouldn't be a problem with parking then. I'll give directions (and more details when I figure it out). I'm looking forward to seeing you guys and your Z's.

Hey, I just checked and the Strawberry Festival is on May 15 and 16. That means the freeway is going to be a nightmare from LA to Oxnard. How about the weekend after that, which would be on May 23rd?

I'm in for May 16th. How about at the Ventura Harbor area? I'm checking it out to see exactly where would be a good place to meet up. Are you guys OK with Ventura?

I just talked to Steve! I got his number from the Central coast club. He said basically the same thing you did. Thanks!

I have no idea how to organize a Z club or what we'd do. I was thinking of getting together to gawk at eachothers cars and maybe exchange info. Anyone have any ideas? I'm open to any suggestions.
  18. I have louvers on the back of my 280z made by Mulholland Interpart. I've been having trouble with the lock that lets me raise it to wash the back window. The metal thing that connects the locking mechanism to the rest of the frame broke and I had it replaced (for about $100!) Now the lock itself is broken, the little key doesn't turn it. Help!

I need the black center caps for my WEDS Rims. We've tried to get them everywhere, including the manufacturer but they are discontinued. Does anyone know where I can get them? They are original but were probably an add on from the dealer and weren't stock. Thanks!

If you don't like the original color or can't tell what it was, I don't think you can go wrong with silver-grey. That's what mine is and it looks fabulous.

I have a '78 280z, I've been driving it for over 20 years and still love it! I was lucky enough to find a mechanic that specializes in Z's. It's been a good reliable car and has only need one major repair in all the years I've had it. It's cute and it's fun to drive.
