  3. Hey Guys, I got the Rota rb wheels yesterday and now shopping for tires. I am very excited about the wheels. I think that they will look sexxxy with the yellow on the car. I am now shopping for tires. The wheels did not come with lug nuts, therefore any information on how to get them in black quick for these wheels and 240z. I am thinking of going 225/40/16 rear and 215/40/16 front and then figure to lower the car to get about an inch of tire well. On a sad note, I also got the callipers back and the place I took them did a bad job. they painted everything including the pistons and the inside part where the pads are sits. where you bleed everything. a lot of the pistons were partialy out and my friend and I took the whole day yesterday cleaning and removing paints and getting the pistons to function. Be advised that I did not take the callipers to an under the tree kind of shop. The President told me that he was going to remove the paint and do it again and would make right on the job but after giving them only 4 callipers to paint and they took about two months and .... them up like that there is no way I was going to leave the calipers. I am very pissed off about people not doing what they were told to do and get paid. I n the calipers photo file you will see the works being done by my mechanic/body to remove the paints and free the cylinders. http://s347.photobucket.com/albums/p450/chachacourt1/new%20wheels/ http://s347.photobucket.com/albums/p450/chachacourt1/calipers/
  4. Hey guys, I also need the same two pieces outer hatch sides. I had purchased the weatherstriping kit from ebay and they were not included. Anyway where should I get them from to be correct. I went to nissan and gave them the part number from the website below which serves as manuals for our cars but when they came, they were to expensive. That is $37 a piece and that is at cost not retail. I did not get them because I thought Blackdragon would also have them without me doing any fabrication. If anyone got the right ones let me know and from the site and also nissan the car originally came with two sides not one piece and the top part although has a different number but it is the same as the sides. http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsuns30/DatsunFairladyZIndex/Body240Z/TailGatePanelTrimLockRearBumper/tabid/1765/Default.aspx
  5. Just have the owner of this car respond. This car does look great. looks like 225/45/16.

My car is original as it gets. The things that I changed are that I added a body kit. I also painted the car the Lambo yellow and its because yellow is my favorite color and i wanted that type of yellow. Somehow, I got confused about the carpet kit and the guy who is working on the car for me kept telling me that I bought the wrong kit. After bringing this issue here and calling Thezstore; I found out that my mechanic is wrong. True, the car is 40 years old but by having discussions gives many options to anyone who would like to do different things. I personally like the car the way it is. I did not know what to do with the black sill plate until bringing this issue here for discussion because Ebay, Thezstore and and other sites states that it is for holding the carpet down. My mechanic and I got confused about it until now. Tks guys.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey this is amazing. I wish I knew about it a few months ago. I am going to show my guy your pctures and see if we can at least do the floors, underneath the seats and behind the seats and trunk. Great stuff, looks good. Believe me, I am impressed.

Hey Kal, I just had a problem understanding why the carpet kit was just floor mats. The guy working on the car kept telling me that I purchased the wrong kit. He also could not understand why the description of the black sill plate states that it is used to hold down the carpet but there is no carpet to hold down. He also think that just the carpet mats not enough to insulates the car from noises and heat but no biggie from all the response I got the car will be as is until the future. I am now concentrating on getting it out of the shop. will deal with that issue just leisure time. Thanks a lot all of you for clarification because I even called thezstore about the kit I bought from them but they said the same that it how its suppose to be.
  9. Hello, Just an update. 18racing.com finally got the wheels in yesterday. My wheels were either shipped last night or this morning. I waited this long; then I guest I can wait a few more days , .

Ok, so the original 240z did not come with an inner sill plate? If they did not make carpet that goes up to the door sill. I do not know why I purchased sill plate. I am confused and Once I am done with this car, I will figure out something to do in the future. If anyone can post good pictures of inside their 240z with carpet, vinyls ect. witll help. Thanks. http://s347.photobucket.com/albums/p450/chachacourt1/240Z%20carpet%20kit/

Hey Guys, Take a look at the photos in the link below. I think that somehow I screwed up in the process of doing the interior. I purchased the 5 piece carpet kit from the Zstore and the vinyl kit from blackdragon. The carpets are just floor mats. There are nothing under the seat. I have the black sill plate that are to hold down carpet. What carpet? the carpet does not reach up to the door sill. I want to use it. an also the chrome datsun logo kick plate. Pls tell me what went wrong here. I am thinking that I should of bought some other carpet pieces. I need to insulates more areas I think. Please help. Anyway i have about maybe a month to finish this car. http://s347.photobucket.com/albums/p450/chachacourt1/240Z%20carpet%20kit/
  13. My wildwoods calipers are in a shop getting painted powder coated. I was able to find a yellow from the shop to match my Murcielago yellow to paint the calipers. I had called Lamborghini and they told me all their calipers are either powder or hot coated and that is the best and only way to do them right.
  14. post pics and what tires are u running and any issues with 17's that is what I originally was going with.
  15. Sure Nativez, I will be posting some pics to keep this thread going. I the windshield and the mouldings from Nissan. The calipers were taken to a shop to get powder coated paint yellow to match the car. black wheels, yellow calipers, yellow car hummmm hummm. I had talked to a guy at Lamborghini and he said the best way to paint calipers are powder coat. Wildwood will be in glossy black.
  16. WOW!!!!!! congrats my friend and good luck. Well, you are lucky that you can do the works by yourself and also gets help from friends. Anyway, I am happy to see Florida Z lovers here. I am not too far from you. I think I am about 4 hours South. There are not too many real late Z fans down South of Florida. Have fun and post newer pics.
  17. Ok, then I guess there will not be any issues with the 16s. Madkaw tell me how you got dual exhaust pipes n reference the gas tank on the right side. I no this is not the thread but you can email me what kind of set up. exhaust n what engine. chachacourt@yahoo.com
  18. Hey guys, take a look at the wildwood brake upgrade. can someone advise if the wheels will clear the calipers. I think I mentioned it earlier but no one said anything about it. Please let me know if I will be needing spacers or does the wheels goes right on.
  19. That is why I am going with 16x8 +10. I realized that too because the car originally came with a size 14 so therefore 17's are overdoing it when you think of it. The discusion here are very helpful. from reading and viewing some of the pics on this thread, I believe this will be cool. its just that I don't know if i can wait 2 months to get the flat black color. I really think it will be a good color to go with the Murcielago yellow. I probably can get the hyper black with polished lip sooner.
  20. Just got off the phone with Jenny at 18racings.com. She advised to order the +10 offset. There will be no cutting fenders and I can use 225/50/16. She said a lot of guys who has +4 offset had to cut when they did not wanted to do it in the first place. She sent me the order I am think of going with the RB-R +10 so I can use the 225/50/16. I will wait approx 2months. Thanks Spitz, its seems like Jenny is right on with you. Information here are good. I like these back and forth information.
  21. Sorry guys very comfuse. which one to go? 225/50/16 or 215-50-16 look good and aggressive without any issues. stock, no flares or rolling the fenders. type II air dam and side kit. I can't do anything else at this time with this car and I want to be pleased when the wheels and the tires are on. Any pics. I need definite wheel well filled with no rubbing and looks good n aggressive. I know i can be a pain sometime. Johnnyt mentioned i will still look beefy at 215-50-16 does anyone running this has pics?
  22. I will check to see if any of the tire stores around here will do test fit. If not then I will have to go with 215/50/16. I would prefer the 225/50/16 though. I would like to see pics of 240z stock running 215/50/16 with 16x8 or anyone who did not have to roll fenders or having flares.
  23. Hey Jonnyt, I contacted 18racings.com and spoke with Jenny. she doe not have the 16x8 +4, 4x114.3 in flat black. She said would take about 2months with a deposit $325. total price $650. Is this a fair price and the wait or any other place you guys are getting it. Also I read where 225/50/16 rub and some sugggest 45 series. I want the wheel well to fill, no rubbing and i dont want to deal with flares and rolling fenders. http://s347.photobucket.com/albums/p...lago%20yellow/
  24. Ok, sounds pretty good. I think that will be the plan. Hope the site will be good price wise, on budget these days. Thanks I will go with the experts that is why I turned to you guys.
  25. Ok Tks, I cheked that website and its does not have matching configuration for any wheels past 17X7. I want to stick with the Rota because of the classic look or watanabe. Johnnyt gave some wheels and tires in case i want to do the back and front stuff but related its not usually a good thing. Arne thinks 17x8.5, even with the air dam type 2 will be too wide and I wants it to be just right. Do you think going with 17x8 all around will do? and if so what tire sizes also filling wheel well? Tks for all imput and pls be patient with me on this, I have worked very hard to get this far especially when someone who is slow than a turtle is well paid to do the job. Honestly guys, I had to go to the shop most of my days off and some nights after work to help and made sure this guy was working on the car to get this far that is why I sound frustrated but there are better days ahead. http://s347.photobucket.com/albums/p450/chachacourt1/1970%20240Z%20with%20Lamborghini%20Murcielago%20yellow/
