    Does that ahhhh mean that it looks too bad in your opinion? Atleast those body numbers look similar to some early z-numbers that I have seen in pictures that Alan has posted??

    http://www.mediarace.fi/unenvaltakunta/kgt.htm the comparement is rusty...Rightside back fender is rusty and seems to have bumps. Also the sills are rusty atleast on the one side..... I asked about the motor and stuff but haven't go answer yet..

    Here is a picture of a id-tag on 1975 kgt . khlgc110. Seems to be number 000288. These cars are rare here in Finland. Is there anything special about this car? I know that it was imported to Finland in 1977 by a UN peacekeeper.

    Yeah it still has got the rear quarters...But atleast the passenger side wheelarch is so soft..It felt like a cracker when I took a hold on it with my hand. I have pretty sure information about the 2-door versions here in Finland. There is only one in this country....It has been some embassadors car in 70's. Estates we do have and four door sedans. Estates were some what called tax avoiding cars. When you boughr one and registered it as a van you did not have to pay car tax. You just had to put a "hard seat" on instead of original back seat. I think that this was a bargain. It has all original carpets etc. that are in fine shape. I bought it for 180 euros = almost same in dollars. I am going to go and drive it home on monday.

    Hello, Have to share you this for future reference. Too late for some of you but there is going to be the time. I bought new balljoints from motonet.fi which is some what cheap parts store in finland. The joints are the same as in 510 Datsun if I remember correct. These do not have the greaseknob as my originals did and as yours do Zpoint..... Well they fit fine. As you can see they are from 72 forwards. 240Z/260Z S30 72--77 Alapallon.. V/O.17-1029 16.48 Euro/each The site is in Finnish. If anyone is interested I can translate and give the info of the parts that you are interested in.

  13. Me and my wife have usually tried to name our cars by their registration plates alphabets. This car has NEL as alphabets and so she has been babtised as NELLY.

    How small sunroof it has to be that it has enoug room to slide back? It cant slide too many inches in z roof?! Can't imagine... Have seen some rally cars with poorly shut sunroofs... a friend of mine has made a proper z out of two. One was original finnish import that was badly rotten. well this guy bought a z that was imported from US some years ago. This one had the whole roof cut of. Some one had started a convertible conversion back in the US. My friend cut the roof of from the old finnish z and welded it on the later import. And it fits just fine...After few hours of hard work.... So it has to be REALLY bad Z to end up as a donor car here!!!!

    The original fj is far more beautifull!? That is too roundish..Todays car design is more sculpturous and clearlined... They could take some of that buble figure away and ad some clearer lines...Thats the way to do it... There are ofcourse some features of an original fj that have been captured nicely in this new version. Like the front grille lookBut it still is too rounded......It should not be too buble or too boxy but something in between....Only my opinion..

    That looks like nice ride. The interior looks almost intact. Even those diamondtrimmings on the gearboxtunnel... Looks like the previos owner has tuned up the centre console with some aluminium panel? The guy has been watching too much fast and furious...Who can think that a civic would be cooler than a classis Z car....It is that mass hysteria and peerpressure...Cool guys drive tuning cars...Nerds drive old datsuns and other shitboxes...HIFI!!
  17. This is starting to turn into skyline club? Well thats fine by me. Those cars are just great too...Where did you import it from? Atleast the engine is l-series...I would guess that the Differential is similar but rest is not...Not so sure about the gearbox.. Can imagine much similarities because they are so different type of vehicles... Maybe some nuts and bolts...=)

  19. I had similar problem when i changed my carbs. I attached the gasoline recirculating pipe to one of the pipes in the fuel rail that is covered with some heat resistant fabric. Before it did not have recirculating coming of Flattops...New carbs had outlets for recirculating and I assumed that the pipe that was free and most definitely goes to the tank was a recirculating pipe...Apparently it was the breathing pipe from the tank to the carbon can or what ever...This made underpressure to the tank. The car started to run bad and when I opened the tank it said shhh..When it took some air?! Can you hear this sound when opening the tank lid? I had to pull of the antiheatmaterial to see which line was going where. Then I realized that the recirculation line is just an extension of main fuel rail. It makes an turn in the end..I nmy case the tan breathing line was the one that reaches the backside of engine and is on the top of actual fuel rails. Just like royce said it has to get the air... Have you done something to the carbs or took of some antipollution equipment?

    Many Datsuns had l series and single carb. Laurel(In finland we had l20 with single carb, 260c, Cedrics and so on...) . Maybe some pick-ups(don't really know)

    This is the skyline imported to Europe according to ams autokatalog 1978. "Its the rear three quarter. The wheelarch on the GT-R is much higher and more rounded ( obviously to help them in homologating them for racing - which never happened ). Once the Overfender is put on top, it makes it look quite different anyway - so it maybe disguises the fact that the wheelarch extends right up into that swage line and cuts it in half. The GT-X still has the swage line complete." I think that this line that rises and "cuts" the rear wheel arch is a Skyline trademark. It can be spotted in earlier models and in the later too.. And as Alan said gtr's are the only ones that have rounder rear arches. I think that we have only 240kgt model. Which looks pretty much same but has 2,4 litre engine with dual SU's not single carb!!? I have seen even the c210 model 240kgt's for sale here. One was -79 and had inhection engine. ,Otso 260Z

    2many is correct and I think everyone can pretty much agree. I bet we dont need to tell you these things about racing, Right scca_racer? As an Co-driver with my friends rally team I have been in the car too many times when this happens... At the best we did two summersolts high in the air. The car hit the bank of the road at about 100km/h and jumped pretty much straight upwards.... Well the crowd had fun...It is costly though!! Two races before that summersolt were also interrrupted with crashes out of the road...Luckily it was deep snow in the ground at these times to soften the hit... We did manage to cut down one birch tree though.. These summersolts were done in the summer!! After that rally my friend just decided to buy new car!! The car we drove in then was a Ford rs2000 and it costs here about 10 000 Eur/dollars.... He bought a few years newer rs2000 and kept the old one as parts.....Some hobby to pay out of own pocket?
