  1. Hi My 72 has a rear sway bar-- the original owner added it back in 1979. The front appears to be a 18mm or 19mm the rear--20mm. Is anyone running a larger rear bar? Most Kits suggest a 1'' front bar with a smaller 7/8 rear bar. Might just be easier to upgrade to one of these.... Thanks Rich

How do you remove the power antenna unit? I've disconnected all the wiring. Do you remove the outer hardware (rubber and washer) or unscrew the antenna mast? The car is a 72 240z. Thanks Rich

What color were the rear bumper brackets? Where they body color or black like the tow hooks? Were the tow hooks a satin or flat black? Thanks..
  4. I am interested as well.. I just finished gutting my 240z for paint--and not a single hose survived--nor deserved to...
  5. The Torpedo is their new IPA--just released this winter. We just got it--so it should be coming your way
  6. Great idea for a thread... Let's see what's in the fridge....Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA Last week Full Sail IPA Next week--something from STONE. I will be stopping in to see Les at Classic Datsun next week--and the almighty STONE Brewery is right over the hill. Life is good. I'm getting thirsty and it's only 8:20 in the morning...
  7. This does looks suspicious... $1,100 doesn't sound like a bad deal until you consider that Dashboard Restorations USA can recover a dash and the console for about that price (not including shipping). http://www.dashboardrestorations.com I spoke with someone at the MSA West Coast Nationals who purchased a NOS dash for his car that does not fit right...probably would have been better to have the old dash recovered .
  8. I realize this thread is kind of old--and you may have already taken care of this--but I came across another source for bushings. http://www.zcarsource.com/content/p/9/catid/7461_7478/SUSPENSION_BUSHING_KITS They have both rubber and urethane--rubber runs about $150 more.

Does anyone have a suggestion for removing the glue beneath the vinyl? I removed the worn-out vinyl from the strut towers--and glue residue is everywhere. Thanks

  11. Glad to see this topic come up. I am beginning the welding/ paint process on my 72 240. Do you guys recommend removing the old undercoating from the car--if it still looks sound? I have some minor rocker (dog-leg rust)--but can see no rust underneath--or should I suspect its just hiding beneath the undercoating??

  13. Randy. You mentioned that Elvan is your mechanic--didn't he own the Upland shop? Is he back in business? I thought he closed up this fall. Rich

Guy, I came across this old post as I was searching for suspension info. The stance/ look of the your lime green Z is impressive--but you mentioned the ride was too stiff. What did you decide to do on the suspension of the 71 Z? Does is ride better than the 72? Rich
  15. Julio, Thanks for the update. Did Dave at Rebello recommend a clutch/flywheel combo for your new motor? Are you going to be replacing/upgrading the u-joints/ mounts?
  16. Julio, I am also looking into the 2.7 rebuild from Rebello. Did you get your motor installed? How does it run? What was the turn around time for the motor rebuilding? Are you running the original four speed--or a 5 speed? Do you see any need for a limited-slip diff.? Thanks, Rich

Give Mike's Z shop a try in Whittier. For body work and rust-repair there's also Beta Motorsports in La Habra.
  18. Thanks for the suggestions.. Unfortunately, it looks like Z Specialty in Upland may be gone--I tried their number and it has been disconnected. Looks like I'm headed to Mike's Z Shop in Whittier.
  19. Glad to hear it all worked out. How long did you wait between primer and paint? I'm guessing the 260 and 280 Z roofs will work on my 72Z if I am unable to find a 240z roof. Thanks
  20. Thanks for the inspiration--I am planning to take out the sunroof in my 72 Z. How do things look several months after the 'operation'? Did any stress cracks or strucutal issues develop?
  21. Hello.. I actually have 2 questions... Does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Riverside/Corona, CA area? How about a decent body shop? Thanks
