I will be 40 in May and I've loved the z car since I was about 10. I had a book titled " Datsun 280zx " when I was a kid and I dreamed about owning my own z car ever since. I used to get in trouble for drawing them during school. A 1980-something zx was almost my 1st car. I got a loan for it and the seller backed out on me the last minute. He said that he just started dating a girl and she did'nt want him to sell it. There have been other z cars over the years that I came close to buying but most needed more tlc than I could afford to give them. There was one 260z a few years back that had very low mileage and looked like it rolled off the showroom floor but I did'nt have the heart to make it my daily driver and I could'nt afford a 2nd car. New York winters can make swiss cheese out of a z.

Thanks for the heads up. Most of my good vacation memories include food. I think I gained 20lbs on our trip to Vegas.

We've done the Disney thing in Orlando quite a few times. We've done Sea World in Orlando as well. Just looking for something new. We'll be checking out the San Diego zoo for sure.

My wife and I will be there. We've been talking about a trip to CA for awhile now. We'll be flying there. We'll be in the Los Angeles area until Sunday and the we'll be heading down to San Diego for the remainder of our trip. Anyone from the area with some suggestions on what to see or do?

A black hatch would match.IMHO, dont let it go or it will be a bigger spot to fix later on. You can fix it and paint a 2in strip just below the window. If you get the line straight it will look better than just a blotch sitting there.

I like it. I have'nt liked any since the 280zx but I like this new one. After we build our garage I think I'll be looking into picking one up for myself.

I just got a pair of Datsun mirrors on Ebay and they were in really bad shape. I wish I had went for the Toyota mirrors in the first place.

I had a nissan pickup that ran like crap when it got hot and it was a bad coil. I have'nt got into working on my z yet to know if there is one or not so... just trying to help.Good luck.

It looks like overspray on the windshield fluid container & I believe I saw the car in an ad prior to ebay for 45,000. My 81 engine bay looks 10times nicer with 51,000 miles on it.

I was wondering what color would you call my car? The color is not recorded on the title and someone told me it was ice blue. I'm just calling it silver.

As far as I know @ this point, the items that are not original are side views, steering wheel, radio and rear spoiler. It's been painted once but I don't know when.

I'm picking it up from North Carolina this Friday. The car is originally from California. It's been on the East Coast for about a year. I found the ad online. We are purchasing from 2nd owner so we'll be #3. It's got 130,000 miles and runs like a champ. I have no doubt that it will make the trip to New York. We will be keeping the 280zx as well. My wife loves the 280zx so that is hers to cruise in. I rented a storage unit the other day because we only have a one car garage for now. In the spring we will be replacing the one car with a 4-car garage with climate control. It will actually be a 3-car 2-motorcycle garage. I'll post again after I find out more.
