I'm in orlando and keeping my eyes open! Too beautiful of a car to be lost to a piece of scum!

I think I've seen him once actually. PM sent in a sec.

Ah, cool, I'm over at the UCF campus.

Welcome fellow Florida resident, I'm in Orlando too...which part are you in if you don't mind me asking?
  5. If you're still running a stock 280z pump, then they put out too much pressure, yes?
  6. Just a question for you skinnyz, but what pump are you using?
  7. Update: Today, I replaced the igntion coil with an Accel one. I chose this one because of it was readily available, and at $2 more than a OEM replacement, there was no reason not to. At first, I thought the car was doing fine with it, but then again, it was only 65 degrees here today. The car returned back to its old habits. I was really hoping this would be the piece to solve the puzzle. Anywho, I ordered a fuel filter and it will be here Friday so I will try that out as well.
  8. Right, I planned to check float levels here shortly actually when I replace the carb needles/nozzles since the front set is worn. I'll be ordering a new fuel filter and coil today. One question though, my car appears to be a factory automatic, I have a 5speed from a later model however. When it comes to the coil for the 260z, there are 2 different models. Should I stick with the Auto one or get a manual one instead? Will
  9. Thanks, I'll look into that post-other items. Ya know, I've been wanting to go back to the stock air cleaner since I actually like the look alot more, but I just haven't been able to find one that isn't asking and exorbitantly high price for what it is or is in decent shape. Right now, I just have I think a ram-flo filter on each one. Will
  10. I could've sworn I replied to this earlier, but then again, it is early in the morning. I will definitely try the fuel filter. I believe the filter is an OEM replacement and the fuel pump is some non-oem unit with no identifiable markings that I saw when I briefly looked it over.
  11. BPR6ES plugs, and I think Magnecore wires? They're Red?
  12. No I have not, I won't have access to a Volt meter til Wednesday. I will do it then though. I'm on the UCF campus here and the majority of my tools are about 6 hours away so I have to use what there is at the SAE shop if need be. However, I highly doubt it to be the wires/plugs. They are less than 6 months old. I hope you prove me wrong though, because I certainly would like this problem to be over.
  13. I just got off the phone with a well educated man about these cars and went through everything with him. Pretty much we are both stumped and the only possible outcome we can think of is the coil is getting heatsoaked, which is the only reason it shows at warmed up temps.
  14. I believe I missed to mention this in my first post considering the time of day(night) I posted. Adjusting the carbs makes no difference in the hesitation/bucking/whathaveyou.
  15. Nice cars man. Looks like you guys had a good crowd. I'm finding it funny that every Nissan dealership is having car meets at the delivery of their GTRs. New way of promotion methinks.
  16. What's the proper procedure for testing the coil? I would rather not be throwing $100 parts at it in a guessing game. The 260z uses an Electrical Dizzy. It depends, if its cold out, yes. But remember, this is Central Florida and has been lately no less then 80 degrees. But, on those warmer days, and I start it without the choke, the problem is the same regardless.
  17. I figured I need to post this one more time since my last time through was incomplete in the diagnosis so here's my problem one more time...please help me out on this: The car is a 1974 260z with 3 screw round top SUs. The car starts up fine. Until it is COMPLETELY warmed up, it runs fine. Once fully warmed up, under acceleration, the engine will hesitate/buck. Pulling back on the choke lever alleviates this hesitation/bucking. Changing the Octane of the gas does not help. It seems to only be temperature effected. If there is any other information I can get for you to be a help, please, let me know.

Here's mine....no the hood is not actualy black, that's photoshopped for funsies. I believe its from MSA...was on the car when I bought it. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e178/glliw/IMG_20041024.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e178/glliw/CFhoodcopy.jpg
  19. Not that I can help with this straight-on, but for taking close up pictures, switch you camera to macro mode. Its usually the flower shaped icon on the dial or a button itself. It'll make the pictures up close much clearer.
  20. I second what he said.

Bummer, if this one a tad closer and not conflicting with UCF's game, I would go.

Pretty good picture, what camera are you using? Location is nice too. Clouds really added a good touch to it. I wouldn't hate ya if you photoshopped some saturation and other basic fixes though.
  23. I don't think that '75 had an adjustable slave. I'm pretty sure that was just a 240z thing.
