  7. To replace mine I needed only to pry the nylon ball off of the linkage...... 'greased' the new rubber with a finger full of grease & pulled the new one on over the nylon part.... It was quite a strech, but worked for me. - Jeff
  8. 7 & 1/2 months you say...... 7&1/2 YEARS with out driving mine!! But as you said......."damn those lines are sweeeeet!........" So I keep my head up and smile when I think ..... "It'll be great to have it done ---- done right. - Jeff

  10. The bore and stroke are the differance ... the 240 has a shorter stroke and smaller bore diameter so it will rev up much faster than the 2.8L on the 280ZX. In my opinion ..... a well tuned set of SU's are equal in power and performance to a fuel injected engine. If you want the best of both worlds ( reliability & fast revs ) put the fuel injection on the 240 block. - Jeff

I've been in the salt mines............. You do NOT want the smell of that place anywhere near you!!! If you saw some pictures of the inside you would think "man - that's cool".....and you would always have a good memory of the place. The smell is of musty salt..... Stronger than a freight train! - Jeff
  16. I installed a '78 N47 head/FI and electronic ignition on my 2.4L block - All things considered - it was easy. The wiring was completly adding to the existing. Made starting perfect! made for a very fast revving engine. I love what it did for me! - Jeff

The only thing that I can think of that pumping the pedal would do would be giving it some more air during cranking. As Dtsnlvrs stated --- there is no accelerator pump on a pair of SUs. - Jeff

Oh .. by the way.. that connector is not a Quick disconect. That type is ment to be a perminent splice/tap in. - Jeff
  25. JEFF replied to projecteye's post in a topic in Electrical
projecteye That is not a factory conector so I do not know what it is for. Is it a 12v power wire? Ignition on or off? check it to ground for continuity. Follow the wire to the other end and let me know where it goes. - Jeff
