  1. How long did it take your bodyshop to finalize your Z? I heard 22 Months for a friends Charger... Then I have heard four months from another Z owner. What has been your experiance? Thank you.
  2. Called Karls Classic Restoration last night. Sounds promising. Going to go look at some of his work this weekend. Need to check on Frogs and Reincarnation also. Does anyone else have any recommendations? Thanks for the assistance as always.
  3. Where is Frogs or Reincarnation Auto? Denver? I'm actually located in Palmer Lake. I have had my Z for two years now. Taking care of mechanical issues and getting to the point of body work. I bought mine from the original owner, 78yo. Took him three years to decide to sell it.
  4. Hi all, I am looking for a Body shop in the Colorado Springs/ Denver area to do restoration body work. Does anyone have any good leads.... Thanks:cool:
  5. Later this month, Zeke will head to the body shop. Recently recieved my BRE front spoiler and louverd inspection panels. Next comes the orignal white paint. Then its off to the Glenwood Springs Rally in June. Second half of the year will be suspension and powder coating.
  6. I'm am the second owner, the PO called mine "Zeke". So they name stays after 37 years. It wouldn't be right to change it.
  7. Currently, My 240Z is completely stock (hubcaps and AM/FM radio) w/ the exception of the seats. They were recovered. It will be going to the body shop for a complete restore in January. From there I plan to improve/Modify to make things better. I don't see any body mod's happening. Mostly electrical (Lights, Wipers, Stereo, etc) and suspension.
  8. 95 4runner. No power, no leg room and bad gas mileage. Bought within a week of totalling my 94 toyota p/u. (Last November) Went from a great truck to a turd. The second would have to be a 69-73 Ford Bonco (Should have been the clue). Its was kinda like the Cadillac song. Had a 390ci in it. Got the front wheels off the ground from a complete stop. Scary in traffic. Burn't it to the ground in three months. Gas leak and electrical short. The worst part is I sold my first 240z for it.
  9. Will this setup work on an automatic? My stock Dizzy runs duel points due to emmissions. Thanks for any info.
  10. Took 15 minutes to replace w/ the Trico 11-601 Pump. Direct replacement! $29 @ Checker auto parts. Thanks for the info.
  11. The all stock 72 240z (automatic) was running rough. So I replaced the spark plugs, sparkplug wires, rotor, cap, points (2-sets), and point lead wires (really rough shape) and condensors. Set the timing, no problems. I actually had it running well for one day. Then I drove to Zfest in denver. 50 miles each way. As soon as be got there, it started acting up. Started running really rough, backfired once, barely held an idle at stoplights. Got it home, checked the timing and it is about 20' retarded. If I attempt to adjust within the scale, the Z dies. It will not turn within the scale. I have checked the gap on the points, replaced the rotor and cap again, checked the firing diagram, all is correct. Any thoughts? I am stumped!

Jan, You don't have to remove the dash. You will have to remove the stereo, heater controls and duct work above the stereo. Once all of this is out of the way, remove the heater core box. It comes out the passenger side. You will need a few short or angled screwdrivers. It will take a couple hours to get it removed. Becareful where you get a replacement. I bought one from the local parts store and it ended up being about 1/4 inch to wide. Good luck and let us know if you have anymore questions. Rod
  13. Anyone else around Colorado Springs headed to Denver for the Show and Shine this Friday????
  14. Great Idea Arne. Colorado seems to be spares of ZZZZZZZZZs

I am planning on keeping the orignal and refuse to cut wires or the original facepiece, that way I can easily bring it back, as needed. I have done the glovebox stereo before and don't care for the lack of storage space during tours and TSD rallys.
  16. I was at the gas station two weeks ago. A father and two young children were heading back to a 1967 Camaro, As they passed my Z, one of the kids asked the father "What kind of car is that"? The father said, "Its a Mazda". Goes to prove that not all car guys are car guys.

So I am ready to replace the original stereo in my 72 240Z. (It will go into a box for now) I'm looking for options. I have seen the retro-sound from MSA. I am interested to see if anyone has found other options that fit/adapt without butchering the face/console. Thoughts? Thank you.

Congrats on the find. Do you have any pics?
  21. I am interested in seeing what everyone is driving other than their Z's. I currently have a 4runner and a Jeep Unlimited. Thanks for the input...
  22. I may be mistaken. Isn't the white 908?
  23. Only 122 days left. Hope to have it repainted back to 908 by then.
  24. Looking forward to Z Fest. I am hoping to see some of these mystical cars that I have heard of but never seen in person. (Black Pearl, and SCARAB) Hope to see ya'll there.
