I also do the same. I make it a rule to only drive on nice Fridays when there is no chance of rain. Unfortuatley, I live 40 miles from work. Great highway drive, but the work driving prevents me from using Hagerty.

Unfortunately I was a lot young and dumber back then. I don't have anything. I sold it to a guy in aurora. The town was cripple creek before all the big changes.

I owned this 72 240Z back in the mid 80's and wonder if it is still around. I sold it while in Denver CO in 1986 or 7. Just curious.... I recently purchased another 1972 in hope of completing a resto-mod.

Thanks Arne for the link to this thread. The roller on my 240Z is square metal with the roller in the middle. There is no clip. There isn't any rust either. Was there a early version for the 240Z? Thoughts? I will post a photo tomorrow. Is there another place on the door to mount this roller? Thanks for the help.

I have taken my interior door panel off because the drivers side window came off the track and would not go back up. After getting it back on track, I found the bamper in the bottom of the door. I looked in the factory shop manual and that is what this roller is called. The problem is that it says to install the bamper, then install the chrome trim on the outside of the door. There is no location to attach this bamper to. There is no clean spot, so it has been off for quite a while. I have searched the archives and have not found any related threads. Has anyone had to deal with this issue? If so, where does this little rubber roller attach? Thank you for your time.
  6. In Colorado, that would be a fair price to start from. I have seen through a couple 240Z's (literally) for almost twice the price. It would be a good starter. Just beaware that you the cheaper the start the more you will have to invest. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Very nice base to start from. Congrats on the purchase.
  8. What is ZDDP? Is it required in the older Z engines? I have a 240Z that I just purchased and it has been driven 400 documented miles in the last 2 years. I deparately need to change the oil and want to get knowledgable prior to actually doing it. So far, I have planned to get a factory filter, Still trying to determine the best oil, and questioning oil additives at this point. Until then the car sits in the garage. Secondary question, does anyone have suggestions for a company that offers replacement radiators in the colorado springs/ denver areas? Thank you for your input....

I have a friend that runs the STP oil treatment for the Zinc. He is running the rottela and the additive in his MGB with decent success. Since I've gone back to the 240Z, I am interested in finding the right oil/treatment that is most benificial to the engine. Thanks for the advice.

What is everyone using as a motor oil? Brands? Weights? Synthetics vs. traditional?

Looks likes a May 72 production date. Thanks for the info. More to come.

Hi everyone, I just bought my secound Z car. The first was in the 80's. It has only taken me 20 years to find another. My new Z is only 36 years old. I bought it last sunday from the original owner. It is very original; original steel wheels (No hub caps, orignal radio, everything except the paint. Unfortuanlely he got into a fender bender and had a poor silver paint job done. This next weekend, I'm going to take care of the leaking gaskets. It has been driven 400 miles in the past two year. I have a laudry list of things needing attention. This winter I hope to bring it slowly back to a presentable life. Does anyone know where I can find a website to help figure out the production date? Is there a Z parts store any better than another? I'm thinking about a resto-mod. I'll see once I dig into the body work a little more. Currently, there is work that needs to be done in the floor pan and there is a small amount of rust on the rear hatch sill, I'll probably replace both front fenders (due to hail damage and small amount of rust). The doglegs look good, battery tray looks good. That is all for now. I will post more as things get moving. Thanks for listening.

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I just bought a 72 240Z from the original owner. It is all original also, all the way down to the radio and steel wheels. He could not find the hub caps. On to the question... Is there a OEM replacement rear hatch strut or a decent after market? Thanks for the assist. Rod
