I have a 78Z I picked it up last fall and I have been doing some work on it the car has about 78,000 miles on it and it had been sitting for about 20 years, I had the fuel tank cleaned and sealed, new fuel pump and pressure regulator. When I charged the fuel system I noticed that one of the short rubber lines at one of the injectors was leaking, I also noticed that the line appears to have been installed with some kind of compressed fitting when I removed that injctor I looked inside and it appears that the rubber inside the hose had started to break down and appears to have clogged the injector, I am assuming that all the rest of the injectors will have the same problem or at the very least they will start leaking soon. I checked with autozone for replacement injectors, they don't look exactly the same so I am not sure if they will even mount to the car. I checked with the dealer and they can get the injector but they do not come with the upper injector holder on the injector. My questions are 1) is there a secret or a tool to remove the upper injector holder, 2) will an injector from autozone work as is or will it require some sort of modification, 3) can the injectors simply be cleaned and the hoses replaced. Thanks for any help out there
  3. Does the car have a carb or fuel injection?
