Zedrally I,m not an expert on 260z , perhaps the other 260z owners in OZ and N.Z. could let us know how their cars cooling system performed provided of course that the system is in god condition. With the two 260's that I have had ,the 2 seaters { 5spd} radiator was coroded out so I replaced it with a good second hand one from an automatic, that car also had British SU'S ( no problems) The second car a 2+2 also a manual has the original radiator and air cond. I took it out last Sunday for a 2 1/2 hour drive in the Adelaide hills it was 41 deg C , with the Air cond on the guage went up to 3/4 thats about as high as I would normally let any of my cars go, it normally sits at just below half at Temps below about 35 c. I was thinking of getting my Radiator cleaned out but it may already be as good as its going to get without increasig the core size.

Alan Is there more of a story to the L26 overheating and fuel evap problems in Japan. I ask because as far as I know they dont apear to have been known as perenial overheating cars in OZ or N.Z . Was it an emissions lean running situation or something similar. Note the Ozzy cars did not have legislated emmision requirements till some time in 1975, my 02/74 260Z has the flat top carbs , but no carbon canister or other devices and I hadn't heard of the 75 to 77 cars having overheating problems either.

We still got the flat tops acording to my nissan w/shop manual, but my early 74 /260 has english SU's so I have no idea how the flat tops performed. My car never had an air pump or carbon canister bit i believe after 75 the OZ cars got the carbon canister in the fuel system also we never got the heavy bumper bars with the shock absorbers.

Look out for one from a 260Z 2+2 auto with air cond , it should be a 3 row type and grab the bottom hose as well.

After checking the web site mentioned earlier ; i decided to check out the possible future availability of the l.e.d. globe replacements in OZ . the OZ distributor for Narva & Trucklite are researching this at the moment and probably will have product in about a year. Roger
  11. Steve I double checked the OZ compliance plate it is stamped 4/74 and the engine number & Body no. match the Nissan I.D. plate, go figure. Cheers Roger

Thanks PrOxLaMus and Gav for that info, I grabbed that Unique cars mag already, I'll have a look for the ' Super Street" . Gav the only article of any decent size on the 2+2 is in Sports Car World Jan 75 , Falcon GT coupe versus 260Z 2+2, Both Auto's ; 5 pages. It would be good to find an article mentioning the mechanical changes eg, diff g/box strg rack? ,we won't mention the carby's . The other articles I have are just small general over veiws including other Zeds as well. Gav I'd still be interested in that article you have I will PM you my e-mail address. If I come across any good articles on the 260 5 speed I'll let you Know. cheers

Thanks for the info, my 260 has the same seat belt mtg as the 240, ive got belts now but will replace them with "klippan" ones later as i would prefer to have a stalk mounted belt reciever. They are available at most large auto shops or trade houses like Repco etc. Cheers

Steve you were right , i must be blind, the top seat belt mounting hole is there through the upper portion of the inner plastic window trim. 240 belts it is then. Does any other Datsun use the same ( or will fit O.K. ) non retractor belt set up. Thanks

I have a 4/74 260z coupe without seat belts, my w/shop manual shows a retractor mechanisim mounted on a bracket on the strut tower then the belt going through a guide along side the seat at shoulder height , i have also seen this on a 76 model. has anyone seen an early 260 2 seater with the same belts as a 240 because i cant see where the retractor mechanism bracket would attach to the tower , i e betweem the strut cap and the rear quarter panel.
  22. wanted complete seat belt set up for 260z 2 seater, inc strut tower metal cover and retractor mtg bracket on top of it , belt guides, retractor belt assy's , and matching stalks .

A few minutes before church services started, the townspeople were sitting in their pews and talking. Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church. Everyone started screaming and running for the exits, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get away from the evil incarnate. Soon everyone had exited the church except for one elderly man who sat calmly in his pew without moving, seeming oblivious to the fact that God's ultimate enemy was in his presence. So Satan walked up to the old man and said "Don't you know who I am?" The man replied, "Yep, sure do." "Aren't you afraid of me?" Satan asked; Nope, sure ain't." said the man. "Don't you realize I can kill you with a word?" asked Satan. "Don't doubt it for a minute," returned the old man, in an even tone. Did you know that I can cause you profound, horrifying, AGONY for all eternity?" persisted Satan. "Yep," was the calm reply. "And you're still not afraid?" asked Satan. "Nope," said the old man. More than a little perturbed, Satan asked, "Well, why aren't you afraid of me?" The man calmly replied, "Been married to your sister for 48 years."

A man enters the confessional and says to the Irish Priest, "Father, it >has been one month since my last confession. I have had sex with Fannie >Green every week for the last month." The priest tells the sinner, "You >are forgiven. Go out and say 3 Hail Mary's." >Soon, another man enters the confessional. "Father, it has been two >months since my last confession. I have had sex with Fannie Green twice >a week for the last two months." >This time the priest asks, "Who is "Fannie Green?" >"A new woman in the neighborhood," the sinner replies. >"Very well," says the priest. "Go and say 10 Hail Mary's." >The next morning in church, the priest is preparing to deliver his >sermon when, suddenly a gorgeous, tall woman enters the church. >All the men's eyes fall upon her, as she slowly sashays up the aisle and >sits down in front of the Alter. Her dress is green and very short, with >matching shiny emerald green shoes. The priest and altar boy gasp, as >the woman in sits with her legs slightly spread apart. >The priest turns to the altar boy and asks, "Is that Fannie Green?" >The altar boy, whose eyes are popping out of his head, replies; "No >Father, I think its just the reflection off her shoes." >

A young family moved into a house next door to a vacant lot. One day a construction crew turned up to start building a house on the empty lot. The young family's 6 year old daughter naturally took an interest in the activity going on next door and started talking with the workers. She hung around and eventually the construction crew more or less adopted her as a kind of project mascot. They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had coffee and lunch breaks, and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important. At the end of the first week they even presented her with a pay envelope containing five dollars. The little girl took it home to her mother who said all the appropriate words of admiration and suggested that they take the five dollars pay she had recieved to the bank the next day to start a savings account. When they got to the bank the teller was equally impressed with the story and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age. The little girl proudly replied, "I've been working with a construction crew building a house." "my goodness gracious," said the teller, "and will you be working on the house again this week to?" " I will if those worthless cocksuckers at the timber yard ever bring us the f%#@n' fibro we ordered," replied the little girl.
