Carpet kits
So I am trying again to quit smoking:sick: As an added incentive I am looking into a new carpet kit. My 77 has the sloped rear deck and I would like loop, as close to stock as possible. Any recommendations?

What can new ball joints do for you???
I put new ball joints on about 2 months ago. I have not noticed much improvement at all. Since I have noticed more steering shake. I had an alignment done right after putting in new ball joints and outer tie rod ends. but there are other things I need to work over, namely bushings and a closer inspection of the rack. On the easer side I plane on a tire rotation to see how that affects things. I feel good about doing it though as the old units were in pretty bad shape. I guess I could say there has been some minor improvements in responsiveness but that may be overshadowed by the shakes.

What is the easiest way to depressurize the fuel system?
It took a reread to understand "far stankwasher". Anyhow I think it is mandatory to have one. I pulled a stupid about 8 years ago while working on the fuel system of a dodge truck. I got quite a bit of overspray disconnecting an injector. I put everything back together fired up the engine (no pun), and needed to run for the fire extinguisher. I was lucky in that nothing was badly damaged and no one was hurt.

horn not wokring, help?
Good deal. It is a safety issue. My horns were not working for about a year and a half. I never realized how often a little beep could prevent someone from drifting into me. Often this would cause me to swerve unexpectedly. Horns are good.

new and looking for my dream Z car
congratulation on you're find, nice car! I also would suggest not cutting the roof. If you search you will find the pains some have gone through to re-weld a whole new roof in. Yes on the cup holder (I use the ashtray slot).

horn not wokring, help?
There are two horns in the front of the car. A high and low note just behind the front grill. have you looked under the horn pad? if the spring is missing it will not work. also make sure that the curved wiper is in contact with the wheel. check the horns for proper ground and pos conections.

My old 260 was orange. I miss that car.

Hood Vents...hard to find!
Also note that there are inside covers that go on the underside of those vents. I have one that I have not put on yet. I think it is to keep the rain off of the electical components.

Northernmost 240z?
My first Z was in Anchorage AK. Drove it year round.

Happy anniversary!!!
I love the color (Of course). You know, when it came time to paint my car I was unsure what color it should be (it was black when I bought it). I choose to go with the original color, yellow, just to stay true to the car. In the end I am very happy with it. Z's look good in many colors but yellow is a great sports car color IMHO.

Well what do ya' know...she passed!
That is one of my main problems right now, the "hot start" symptom. The only thing is it seems sort of odd to be tuning the car from the drivers seat. Alas it seems that it may be the thing to do. Still My EFI was pretty messed up when I got the car and that screw setting is one thing I have not verified as being set correctly. Is there any way to know at least what the initial setting should be? I get a small amount of front fire after a hot start. Not trying to hijack the thread.

Well what do ya' know...she passed!
I really have not played around with the idle Mixture screw. Hmmm I may need to look into that. It is between 800 and 1800 rpms that my car runs a little rough it seems. rcb280z I am impressed that you get the mileage that you do. I have improved mine from about 9 mpg to close to 18. And I think your cae could use a different hood.

Well what do ya' know...she passed!
Curious: I think I have my AFM dialed in just about right, but I think I am running a little lean. So what is the difference between enriching the mixture through AFM adjustment and installing a resistor in line with the WTS that some have done?

What is the easiest way to depressurize the fuel system?
I have done both methods plus just taking the hose off of the filter and spraying fuel in my eyes. (at least I have only done that once).

Well what do ya' know...she passed!
Very cool! I sure am glad I do not need to smog my 77 here in Seattle, but if I did it would make me tune up my car more often. Good job.

Fuel Starvation Problem?
could be the fuel pump. could be clogged lines. Change the filter and perhaps open it up and see what's inside (rust?)
