Are you upgrading for safety? Stock brakes work better than upgraded brakes improperly installed. I thought about this upgrade but instead I choose to refurbish my stock brakes properly they work fine.

$100 for the spacers? really? well you could just get aluminium stock of the proper thickness and shape them yourself. aluminium is easy to work.
  3. See I have a different problem. The mode door does not operate on mine, the temp control does (my ac is inoperable at this time, another story to begin). I was thinking about using the mighty vac to test each hose to see if the dashpots were all operable.

Hmm, time for a new AFM perhaps. are you in washigton state? I just pulled parts from a 77 that had an afm at the junk yard, and I am not sure if it still there but there was a 79 zx in Olympia about 4 weeks ago.
  5. Wow! that engine looks like it whent through WWIII. Oh and bear cubs! they are so cute I could

Zed, that being said. I would like to know if he saved the old 77 efi components. That would seem to be the best route if he continues to have difficulty. The efi system is very involved but once broken down to individual components becomes managable and even simple to diagnose.

Same here. I got mine for $300. not running, rust not as bad, but close. I got my car for a fun project and did all the work myself. It depends on how much time you are willing to put into it. That car can be saved but if you are going to hire out the work forget it.

Are you trying to reposition the wiper? What I read a while back involved taking apart the AFM and moving the circuit board up or down to reposition the carbon chase. I would not try to bend the wiper is very delicate. Edit try this: http://www.kamikazeracing.org/dl/JsAFMRebuild/

Take a look at: http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/afm/index.html I have also read up on a way to move the carbon sweep so that the contact is touching new material. P.S. on these cars it is called an Air Flow Meter not a Mass Airflow Sensor.

Nice car. I miss my old 260.
  11. Let me know how the set up works out for you if you finish before me.
  12. Ok, so my choices are narrowing down a bit. It is looking like a lot of people are going with a similar setup, this makes me more comfortable going with KYBs and most likely the new springs. So now I am on to sourcing rubber bushings. Any idea if Beck Arnley bushings are any good or even if they are rubber or poly? I know my tc bushings are on there last leg. Thanks everyone for the advice.

hmm Is your car a 240? the 280 covers may work but they have slots for the seat belts. And you could probable fashion a bracket to mount them.

Does the car come with happy smoke or is that on top of the 30k?
  15. If the Admin would like to combine threads, I would not have a problem as there is a crossover in inquiries. Right now I am just shopping around and as I am no expert, I want to get this right and not waste money (shipping etc). The question you asked in your thread now has me wondering about spring/strut compatibility.
  16. KYB Excel-G? http://www.justsuspension.com/kyb?year=5&make=1311&model=8943

WOW! um, did you get the glove box open?
  19. Good luck on you're search. It sucks what happend, sort of like getting one lick of the ice cream then it falls off of the cone and lands in the mud.:disappoin

Power windows: $10,000, Time spent cutting holes for the door speakers: Priceless.
  21. See that looks like it's sitting about right to me. Lower than my car but but not looking like the underside would scrape over bumps, And no way do I wish to cut into the metal and flare the car. Flares are ok, just not my thing. So far The only place I can find the springs are MSA.
  22. I will consider the eibach springs, I just don't have much money, but as my car sits pretty high right now I would not like to raise it further. I have stock size wheels. I don't whant to slam my car that's for sure, (I'm in my 40s not teens) but dropping it an inch is actually desirable. Cutting springs just does not seem right to me at least in that it looks like they would not "seat" properly. My car is a daily driver here in Seattle and the streets are maintained like crap. So Springs look like about $180 struts around $180 and bushings I am not sure yet what Nissan sells rubber for.
  23. Way old thread: Where did you find the grease? what brand? would "super lube" work?
  24. someone stole my idea! (using a time machine that I also invented).
