Smoking thing has been good (other than one during my Mom's celebration, She passed away last April). Side job has come to a short break, but will pick up in a few weeks: So I am pretty sure I am going to order from datsun spirit. My concerns are that the kit is sectional, not really stock, and I am unsure if they will understand that my hatch deck is the sloped type. Also if it will have the luggadge strap holes precut and bound somehow. So if I go with this kit will I need sound deaden er? padding? any thoughts or write ups out there?

I have only skimmed this thread so sorry in advance if it's already been looked at. Have you tried disconnecting and plugging the cold start injector?

Started the car today. The leak is gone (at least for now). My only regret was that I simply was not paying attention while replacing the front cover. It would have been easy to see as the valve cover was removed. Leason learned.

My theory is a cable not plugged in all the way. I know this sounds simple but on more then one occasion this has happened to me. on a side note: did you have the throttle wide open when you performed the compression test? if not you're numbers may be even better.

It's been a while: For some time now I have been driving my Toyota and working a side job that just came to a short break. None to soon! I have not had a weekend in 5 weeks. Today I pulled the valve cover and shure enough, There is the head gasket pushed into the timing chain area! Here is what I have done: I loosened the two small front bolts and cleaned the area thoroughly with brake cleaner, then squeezed ultra grey into the gasket void, let it sit for about 20 min then tightened the bolts just till they contacted the head. waited another hour and tightened them down. I will let it cure till tomorrow evening and see if it leaks. I know this is not the best way to fix it but I just don't have time to pull the head or the front cover these days. I think the best solution down the road is another head gasket.

It's funny how sometimes you plan on a nice summertime project and things get a little complicated with time. Again the carpets are on hold till I resolve the front cover oil leak and finish up a side job installing maple flooring and refinish oak floors for a client. This job has turned into "can you hang the new custom doors we ordered and fix the pocket door the last carpenter crewed up". And "could you install all of the door casings?". Little time for me and the Yellow Z, but I want it back on the road soon. Oh and " we decided we want a 3/4" mahogany inlay on the landing, can you do that? (after the floors were put down!). I cannot say no in this economy.

I have a 77 and use that diagram. were are the erorrs?

Sorry I know this does not help you, but finally you have posted something of interest to me. Not that my ebrake system is out of order, but what could go wrong at some time. This pertains to me more than ebay listings. I hope you get it sorted out.

Soapy water and a sqeegee? Spray glue like 3m super 77?

I like the Zip tie on the AFM. Mine is stuck on with electrical tape. I don't want to silicone it till I am sure I have it set right.

Thought about Zappping my car a few times. Not sure if it' worth it.

I made the mistake of over tightening the cover once and snapped a bolt off. no worries it was easy to remove. concidering how little tourgue the front cover requires I just snug them down. I also star from the middle and work out just because it makes me feal better.

still got a patch stuck to my back. Going to step 3 next week.
