All good ideas. I second the seafoam and filter. But do not be suprised if you have trouble in the future as I think you have made a diagnostic test of a sort but not really fixed what was/is wrong. (I hope I am wrong).
  3. I totally missed youre post at first. You know that does not sound like a bad idea. I was thinking of making a gasket but the thickness might be different. The head gasket really does not cost that much.Anyhow I will concider youre suggestion an option after I have the cover off and have a look.
  4. Now I feel old. Now I feel Young: "Party on excellent!"
  5. Do you remember how the commercial ended after the Wise Owl licked the tootsie roll tootsie pop three times?
  6. yes I did. I used ulta grey, a small tab on each corner. I may have damaged the forward part of the head gasket on installation. I recall the small head bolt on the passenger side being difficult to start threading, perhaps because somehow something happened to the head gasket in that area, but I do not know what could have happened. It was a new head gasket and removal and replacement whent smooth (other than that one bolt). Anyhow looks like I am going to remove the front cover again, $H!T

No I think you need to move the AFM flap open then spray.
  8. My Z has been running great since the last post. I looked under the hood yesterday. Alas I have a major oil leak coming from between the head and front cover on the passenger side.:angry: What did I do wrong!? Argg!
  9. Now the AMC Pacer, that is "BAD arse!"

Where did you find them? My WTS connector is loose. I hate those little clips.
  11. Funny, I hate taking my car apart. Putting it back together is enjoyable.
  12. Yes Bert is retired, but I guess you could say It is up to Big money now. At least the ones that have vision or a dream. Like Richard Bronson, Elon Musk or even Paul Allen. The Geeks with the cash. Speaking of Bert My twin brother is building a Long eze, he says it's his flying Z.
  13. Any carbon fiber is over the line. Why do pople think it looks cool. I would use CF if I lost my legs or if I where an aircraft designer.
  14. Watched it live on Nasa TV with the 3d simulator running in real time. Pretty cool to see it pass Demos and Phobos as the red planet grew on the screen. Lucky here on the west coast it landed at around 10:30 pm

You could give a little squirt into the afm. Take out the air filter. or take out the brake booster hose and sqrirt a little in from there. But it would be best to hook up a fuel pressure gauge between the fuel filter and fuel rail and see what you get. have you checked for spark yet?
  16. I totally agree. I look at it this way when I here people say it's a waist of money: If We are going to wizz money away at least lets spend it on something cool, instead of tax breaks for the ultra rich, bailouts for banks and blowing people up.
  17. Normally I would say throwing parts at the problem is a waist of money, but most of the items you described are common replacements for a tune up and maintenance, but what do you think the main culprit was? glad to here you're up and running again. How much did the injectors set you back?
  18. It Worked!!!! yippy!!! and pics already!!!!!!!!

  20. I think I have watched the 7 minutes of terror video 7 thousand times now.
  21. I have my eyes glued on another tab. getting sick of the outdated educational programing NASA is streaming. It's nice to know others are exited about this.
  22. That boot leaking would be counted as a vacuum leak, as the air entering the throttle body would not be metered by the AFM. If it were the Air cleaner to AFM boot I would not worry so much.

good job! (keaping you're cool with the extra help). Hope it fires up nice.
  24. I have the same problem. My current solution is to rev the car after startup to get the gas flowing. I know this is not a cure. but it's what I do, at least for now. No problems when the engine is cool though.

At this time I am just considering it and thinking about what I may need. My supervisor at work has a sewing machine made for upholstery. He said He would lone it to me. He has used it on his boat, jet skis and model T. one thing I would need to know is what type of padding to use and if is sewn to the carpet of just glued to down. Also reference for a 77 interior. My current carpets are not stock, nor do they fit well.
