Brake Master Cylinder?
I have a '73 240z. The brake pedal goes all the way to the floor before the brakes will engage. The emergency brake light goes on when I press the brake pedal all the way down. The brake fluid reservoir has fluid in it. Is there a way to check the master cylinder to see if it's bad before I buy a costly replacement? It worked when I bought the car and I haven't driven it probably more than 500 miles in 5 years.

Dripping oil when engine is running
Thanks, I'll poke around a bit. It appears to be dripping from the point where the transmission is connected to the engine. I don't know if that's because it's the lowest point (gravity) or the leak is nearby. I can tell it's dripping when the car is running because there are drops leading up my driveway. There is also a fairly large stain where it continues to drip once parked. I'll check it out further, thanks for the advice!

Dripping oil when engine is running
I'm not a mechanic and could really use some insight here. My '73 240z drips oil when it's running but not after the engine cools down. It just started doing it this spring after it had been in the driveway for a couple of cold months (had to move it out of the garage due to some house remodeling). Any idea what could be causing this?

Hesitates when pedal is mashed
Thanks! Yes I mean the round tops as opposed to the flat tops. I got their video and the rebuild kit and put in new needles and cleaned everything up but it's been sitting a while so I may need to revisit.

Hesitates when pedal is mashed
Good Friday Everyone, I have a '73 with the Hitachi bell tops. When I step down on the gas it takes a second or two to catch. It totally bogs down and then fires up. I'm sure the fix is in the carbs, right? Any quick fix? I'm admitedly a weekend tinkerer at best but I have broken down the carbs and float bowls and cleaned them up pretty good.

Gas leak / motor not getting gas
Thanks guys, really appreciate your expert advice. I'll see what I can do without going the route of removing the tank and having it repaired.

Gas leak / motor not getting gas
OK, I think I got it. It's a straw like metal tube that goes down into the tank that sucks gas out. There is a hole in it that makes it suck air instead of gas when the hole is above the gas level. That's bad news. That means I need to have the tank removed and opened up in order to fix it right? Ouch!

Gas leak / motor not getting gas
I'm a total novice. What is a fuel pickup and can you tell me anything about fixing it? Thank you!

Gas leak / motor not getting gas
Hi -- I have a 73 240z that has a very strange problem. When the gas falls below a certain level in the tank it stops drawing gas to the float bowls and SU carbs. To get it started again all I have to do is put in a gas can full of gas and it starts right up. I also have a leak around the fuel sending unit. Does anyone know if these are related? If I fix the leak will the other problem correct?
