  1. I always thought it would be cool to get some blue & yellow original style plates for my Z. Or even better black and yellow to match my black car. Well now you can! I'm going to order a personalized black and yellow for myself, I don't think the blue & yellow will make the 7,500 mark.. 2. The story goes I bought a 73 240z with 280zx turbo pieces and a wiring harness & ecu from a 79 280z. While the car was in my mechanics possession the car suddenly died while he was testing it out. Instead of finding out why it died he decided to proceed to install an 83 turbo wiring harness & ecu. He couldn't get it running and says the car now has no spark. I had the car towed back to my house where I have been doing other things to it. I'm a dummy when it comes to wiring and would gladly pay someone who knows what he's doing to get this car back on the road. The car hasn't ran in over a year and the only time I've driven it was right after I bought it. It's killing me just looking at it collecting dust. I will pay good money to the guy with the skills to get my Z going. I've attempted to contact Mikes Z Shop it Whittier but the guy seems too busy to let me take my car in. I'm out of options here.. 3. Well he repaired it but he never said what the original problem was unless I'm missing something? I'm not going to attempt any repairs or modifications until I know it's actually going to be beneficial to my problem.
  4. Ok I'm pretty sure this is the nut in question. I can barely get my fingers on it and it seems pretty darn tight. The only time I see this rod move is when I pull the door handle. If I operate the lock knob up and down manually this rod and nut has no movement..
  5. Thanks, the hole was put there by a previous owner. I think his intention was to add more fresh air or maybe make the carbs sound louder?
  6. So I bought a 73 240z and the driver side door lock won't go down when using the key. It will just go down a 1/4 inch but not lock. If you have the window down and operate the lock knob by hand you can lock and unlock it without any problems. I've lubricated what parts I could see, and sprayed lock de-icer inside the lock. That didn't work. I'm assuming at this point Ill need to remove something to clean better? The driver door skin was replaced at one point. I can snap pictures of anything if needed. Please don't tell me to search, I've been searching for the past couple weeks and found alot of good info but no one had my exact problem that I could find. Thanks in adavance
  7. Iv'e done an aluminum driveshaft before (not on a Z) and it did make a noticable difference in performance. The throttle response felt quite a bit better and overall the car just felt lighter due to the quicker acceleration, especially in the corners. It's nothing like a light weight flywheel but worth doing if you have already done most of the major mods.

I installed the twice pipes set-up in my driveway. It's soposed to be easier to install in the 240's though. I did notice a bump in performance which I tested on my butt dyno. As for the sound its amazing. The sound alone is worth it in my opinion.
