No explanation needed but I have noticed that there are not as many red usernames lately. I am sure it is a sign of the times. I am guilty myself. I have been using the board for 18 months and have never contributed. I think it's time. Even a small amount will help I'm sure. Maybe others would like to chip in also. Heres the link to donate: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/payments.php Thanks to all the mods for providing the best Z site out there. John

I tried to login earlier and got a godaddy page that said the domain expired yesterday. Thought that was kind of wierd so I went back about half an hour later and it was down still. Do we need a web-a-thon to raise funds? John
  3. Thanks Mike. Must - find - money....

I agree, POR-15 will prevent it from rusting. It will almost be guaranteed to prevent you from painting too. You will need to scuff it up with a wire wheel I think then hit it with some 600 grit and maybe you will be able to prime or undercoat it prior to paint. Although you probably don't need undercoat with POR-15 unless you are using it for sound deadening. Read all about POR-15 hear: http://www.por15.com/ John
  5. Very nice work. Are these correct for early Series 1 cars?

The first one actually looks like a 73 240. Very nice find regardless.
  7. That's classic! Maybe the next one they send me will be for free shipping. Seems shipping is more than the parts with them sometimes. John
  8. Thanks Mike! I guess I was right when I thought it came off the motor mount. Now to figure out which side? Sounds like most were on the passenger side so I will start there. Thanks again. John
  9. Thanks Arne. I think that I will pay close attention tomorrow as I bolt it all back in and see if I come across an area that it seems to fit. If not I will put it aside and label it as "unknown from engine removal". It is obviously a spacer or shim of some sort. Thanks for everybodies help. John
  10. O.K. I just went to the garage and dug out the old motor mounts. The holes line up perfectly and it appears that that there is less grease and dirt on one of the mounts where this shim might go. This almost makes sense because when it hit the ground it landed about in the center of the engine bay. Is it possible that this is a shim for the motor mounts and if so, which side does it shim?
  11. I lined up the holes on the plate with the tranny mount and they don't line up. That was the first thing I checked because it hit the floor as the engine/tranny combo was tilted up on the way out. I really should have figured out where it goes 15 months ago (when it fell out). I have checked the FSM and Wickes book and can't find it pictured there. I am going to turn to the micro fiche next.
  12. This part hit the ground when I was pulling my motor and tranny last year. The motor and tranny are going back in tomorrow and, as usual, I am scrambling to figure out where it goes. I have already lined it up with tranny mount and that's not it. Thanks in advance. John
  13. It's not much but every penny helps these days. Glad you guys found it useful.
  14. Are you saying that there is a rebuild kit for pre 8/71 master vacs? I could use one if there is, I just haven't come across it yet. Thanks, John
  15. They might be available still. Call courtesyparts.com if you don't have any luck finding a used one. CALL US: 1-800-527-1909 Good luck. John
  16. Has anybody tried copying the entire cd contents to a folder on the C:\ then try running it? I do not have the cd so I cannot test it. John

Judging by the guy sitting on the right hand side, I would have to say yes, it is right hand drive;) Hope he gets it. John

  19. Go to courtesyparts.com I plugged in your 3 parts numbers and they came up as out of stock but still available. You might call them and talk to a parts guy. They are great to work with. (800) 527-1909 or (972) 644-3942 Good luck. John
  20. Your welcome. Nice thing about the pdf is that you can print out the section you need, grease it up good then throw it away. Same thing is true for the club microfiche CD. It would be nice to find the 70 and 71 FSM in this format. John
  21. Just to get you by until you find a paper version of the FSM: http://www.xenons30.com/reference.html Click on 72 and save to your desktop. John
  22. I contacted the seller and asked him if the vin was correct. His reply was yes, and that he had taken it from the door plate. I then asked him to look at the firewall etching to verify. Still no reply...
  23. Jeff, you're right. Might be worth $250 just to say you owned #998 (if it really was #998) I'd take the 2002 sitting behind it. Those were fun little cars.
  24. I'm not sure it's worth $400. I'd be checking the firewall number and the block before I even went to visit. Salvage title too...
  25. Looks like a 73 Laguna behind the Porsche, looks to be original paint too.
