you got to be jokeing. no one knows anything? well, so far I found out that the rear lower control arms from a 510 will fit a GC111/240K. Also, if the front 280Z and DR30 struts will fit the 240k/GC111 then the lower control arms have to be the same. I guess I just answered my own question. BUt I am still not sure about the tension rods. CAN ANYONE HELP!?

I was just wondering what the similarities were with the 240Z/260Z/280Z and the 510 suspension. Will the 280Z lower control arms, tension rods etc. fit the 240k? Would the rear brake conversion for a Datsun 510 work for a 240K? What suspension parts off of these cars would fit? does anyone know?

Hey Matt, are you running Mazda brakes in the front with the original struts?...If you do have the original struts, I'm sure you have welded the adjustable coil-overs. But I was just curious, because over here in Japan, they all just get S30/DR30 front struts, and slap R32/R33/MK63 calipers. The R32 and R33 calipers need brackets to fit the S30 struts. I was looking for something that would bolt right on to my GC111 struts.

What about the RX7? I know we are all piston heads here, but the RX7 is definitely a super car.

what carbs do you have? White smoke is usually an indication of running to lean, or your valve seals are leaking oil, burning inside the combustion chamber.

Wow man...I´ve got a thousand questions, but let me just say. SUPER TIGHT! So, are those S30 front struts? 5 lug? tight man.

Hey Suzook, I know this is an old post, but what kind of alternator upgrade did you do?

I agree with you on that one 440k. It's' actually uncommon to see ground earth wires on an L28 here in Japan. But sometimes they can get carried away with the steel braided lines.

If you leave it flat black with the polished trim, I'm gonna have to get my cough medicine. The car will just be so sick!! I think you should leave it Black. The trim would go good with the rims too.

well here go those pics I said I would post after work from the JCCA meeting I went to. I'm really bad with pics and wish I would of taken more. But I was so into looking at everything. It's really amazing. The first two are from a GC110 and the others are in a Hakoska.

I actually just came from a JCCA nostalgic car show last week. I'm really trying to hook the engine up and so I've been taking pictures and studying the style of L6 mods over here versus in the states. So I took a couple of engine shots from a couple of GC10's and one GC110. They also had a sweet 240Z there. I'll post some pics soons as I get out of work.

  16. hey jmortesen...did I spell that right? , well I've got an L28 with stock cams and N42 head. I ended up turning the pilot screws 2.5 turns out from seated position. I think the turns depend on what engine the carbs are on. But before I did this, I bought the car with it idling relatively rough and had black smoke coming from the exhaust. When I was done adjusting the pilot screws I had no more black smoke, idle really quiet, but it tends to sputter more. Just a little during idle but more so when I take my foot off the throttle. I read in the Mikuni manual that black smoke is from the car being to rich; the pilot jet being to large and needs a smaller jet. This would also explain the sputtering right? How am i suppose to know what size pilot jets I already have in the car. Are numbers stamped on them?
  17. Was just wondering if any of you can tell me how I would go about adjusting my fuel pilot screw on my 44PHH mikuni's?
  18. hey five&dime, how did you go about getting those carbs rebuilt? Did you have to mail it to them. How much was it?

HOLY CRAP! Man, that's super bad! If you were to role up here in Japan with those wheels, you would definitely snap some necks!

well, after waiting forever for spark plug wires, I just decided to get some wires here at my local RS Start sport shop...man it was expensive, like every other nostalgic car part upgrade over here. I finally get the wires in with the new distributor cap and the daim thing still would not start! That's when I gave up, and towed it to a shop. After an hour troubleshooting they found out the the CPU in the Unilite Distributor was fried. AH CRAP! I should of known that! CPU cost me 100.00, Ultra 8mm spark plug wires cost me around 200.00, but the engine is as good as new. Now all I have to do is install the MSD6A and adjust the A/F ratio on the triple Mikuni's.

nice ride. Really impressed at the custom piping. What do you have next on the to-do list for the 240k? Did you have to upgrade the cam's for that turbo?

Hey Noodle, do you have a L28 in your 240k?

Hello all, I was just investigating under the hood, and decided to take off the cam cover. I found that the cam had a stamped E30 on there. Anyone know why this cam is on a N42 L28? Doesnt this cam belong to a 240z? Also, I was wondering if anyone knew a way to check the liter of the pistons without taking the head off? I'm not sure if my engine has been bored to a 3L.

I figured most people use the NGK wires. I was looking at the Taylor wires, but I'm not sure If I need the 8mm or http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PEIC08/12-4169 ?
