  1. You are correct, sir. But I'm using it between the tank outlet and pump inlet to prevent junk from getting TO the pump. It's not seeing any pressure at all.
  2. As an alternative to a strainer, I used a filter. I found two reasonably priced parts that will do the job - both are regular metal body filters, but they have 1/2" inlets and outlets. One's by Mr. Gasket, p/n 2526 and the other is sold by NAPA, p/n 3299. The only difference I can see is the Mr. Gasket is chrome plated. You can get either one for less than $15.00.
