  1. Thanks for the help, it is appreciated. Got to love eBay switches, supposed to work and of course did not. Cheers Richard.
  2. So what are the odds. Three headlight switches and only one worked. BUT they work and on the relays. YEA. Richard.
  3. In the never ending battle to get 9070 back on the road we are working on the lights. Put the relay kit and replaced every bulb in the car. Turn on the marker lights and they are great, rear side, front side and front. Nothing on the headlights. I can ground one of the wires at the turn signal switch/dimmer and they will come on. But if check the wiring that the bulb would plug into on the driver side (either side actually) I get 12v at all three pins. We swapped the dimmer and the combination switch (which fixed the wipers) and still no headlights. I have searched and found a lot of stuff but when we check coninutiy everything checks out. First where are all the grounds on this car, I have a diagram but am not sure if it has all of them listed. We are afraid somehting is getting power that should be grounded. Thanks in advance for the help. Richard.
  4. I have the right on the right, so that is not an issue, I think it may be bent. I will get a set of needle nose in there and see what that does. Thanks for all the help, Richard.
  5. I do not have the outer squeegy on yet so I do not know if that will affect anything or not, they new and I know if I put them on without the roller working they will be bent to get them off. I have not rolled the windows all the way down yet but they stay in the track and the front and go up nicely. I will work on the contacts on the switch when the temps warm up some. Thanks for all the tips, Richard.
  6. I have the headlights on relays in the front already thanks to this forum. I have some CRC contact cleaner and will hose it down and work it for a while. Any suggestions on the window roller? Richard.
  7. Adding a rear bar only will not help a lot. Increasing the front bar and add the rear bar in concert will work best. A new street style progressive spring strut combo will make a lot of difference. JMHO, Richard.
  8. In the never ending process of 9070 I am putting the side windows back in and they work great, go up and down really nice. Then I put the roller in on the passenger side and the window is pushed in too far. It does go into the channel at the top but the roller seems to push too hard. I am afraid to bend it, and more afraid to remove it to bend it. Any suggestions? Also the headlights do not come one, I can ground the relay on turn signal stalk (high low) and get the lights but they do not come on with the switch. It has been almost 20 year since they have been tried. I have not tried to track it down yet other than checking fuses. Is there anything simple and quick that comes to mind may help me. I tried another switch but that one did not even turn on the running lights. On a side note, this forum has been a ton of help with everything so far. Cheers Richard.
  9. The count is 14 total needed I have 6. A local guy has a parts car inside with the windows already out so I have bunch coming. Thanks though, Richard.
  10. It sounds like you have what I need. Yes, screws with large washers and rubber things, I have the rubber main strips but over time several 4 or 5 on each side have vibrated out and been lost. I guess 40 plus years does that. I can take a pic if you need it or send me a pic, richard at northracecars.com is my email. I will get an exact count in the morning. On a side note, this forum never ceases to amaze me, community more than anything else, Richard.
  11. It looks like the car was originally silver, but red is good too. Nice work, the tearing apart is the easy part, wait until you have to put it together, Richard.
  12. Great, just spent about 5 hours cleaning and cleaning cleaning two of the four I had, I would easily bought new ones. , Richard.
  13. Stopper and dove tails, MPS and Black dragon have them. HTH, Richard.
  14. Not all doors swap easily they need to be similar vintage. For example late 280 doors are different from 75 to 78 I think, we ran into this during a group project with HAZCC. HTH, Richard.
  15. This the side window glass in the door, I got the rear quarter seals, innner outer upper finisher and lower finisher already installed, painted the edges so they look right. Door is on, latches work just finishing up the door and need the mounting hardware for the door glass to the metal lift channel. Thanks for looking and replying. Like I said I have a parts car but would rather not pull the parts out of it, Richard.
  16. My dynomax hangs the same way, Tucked up and hidden. I may paint the front of it black to dissappear in the quarter. YMMV, Richard.

Bit of worthless trivia, most resonators are glass pack mufflers installed in reverse. Just put the MSA kit on my car and it is louder than the original and I will likely put a couple of car chemistry inserts in the middle collector before I put in a center muffler. HTH, Richard.
  18. I was there on Saturday (they are that close to me, 30 miles) and they did not have them, thanks for the heads up. Cheers Richard.
  19. Well in the never ending process of putting 9070 back together I am working on the side windows in the doors. I noticed about half of the fasteners are missing. The scres are not bad to get but I need the washers, rubbers and all that stuff. I have a parts car but would prefer not to steal them from it. So does anyone know where they can be purchased new or used? Thanks in advance. Richard.

Just did this, I have the front and rear bumpers all rechromed as well as the over riders. Well the rear over rider trim I could not find. So I bought 4 bumper bolts and rounded the square edges a little so as not to mess up the bumpers and they look great. They line up close enough to look like they actually mount the bumpers. Cleans up the lines on the car also. I used 3/8ths in bolts. HTH, Richard.
  21. It will be very hard to save the car no matter if the labor is free. Do some math and go out west and get a good west coast canada car and have it shipped to you, you will be money way way way ahead. Rust is expensive, and you can never get it all. Start with the best rust free tub you can get, spend all the money you have to get a good start, it will be the best money spent. The other option is to buy them done, even better money than above. JMHO, Richard.
  22. Well I got a nice, very nice, call from the owner of the company. Apparently they have decided to do the right thing and fix my dash correctly without charge to me; including shipping. The bad part is I need to take the car apart again to do it. I got the call and an email last week from the owner and she was super nice about making it right. I am going to have to wait a little while to get it fixed as the car is out of que right now. But I thought it only fair to pass the good news on as it is truly good new. HTH, Richard.

Check the tires, or move them front to rear. Depending on age and how much they sit, I have seen tires 'flat spot', but that usually goes away when driven. The other problem is a seperated belt on the tire. It will be visible on the surface. Jack the car up turn the wheels and slowly spin the tire watching the treads, if they wiggle you have a bad belt. The other option is to buy new rotors, they are not expensive. HTH, Richard.
  24. Take the wheel with you to the store, most likely they will not have all 16 you need there, usually just 4, but they will be able to get them same day or next day from the warehouse. I would buy local so if there is a problem you do not pay for them again in shipping, HTH, Richard.
  25. Well I thought I would give you all an update. The dash is still here and the car is progressing. The guy at DR wants me to ship it back so he can screw it up again, and he wants me to pay for it. I have decided not to and asked for my money back, not the shipping just the money I paid for the work done ($850). I am now out about a grand and he is giving me an ultimatum on time, not sure that makes any sense. I have a feeling this is not going to end well. I will likely have to sue him in small claims court to get any money back. If I ran my business like this guy I would be out of business. JMHO, YMMV, Richard.
