  1. Thanks for the input GreenZZZ. Hmmm, Same wheel, tire and tire size I'm going to have. Do you still have the stock valance on?
  2. Here's the tire I'm going with if anyone's interested... I'm a huge Yokohama fan... http://www.yokohamatire.com/TireIntro.asp?TireID=9 AVS ES100's 225/50's
  3. Thanks for the heads up Jeff... So now I'm in the market for a Loisville Slugger... In all seriousness, I've read where some people with the 225's on 16x7's have issues and some don't... I'll just go ahead and roll the fenders just in case because I am on the Eibach's w/ Tokico struts. Thanks again, Nate
  4. Yeah, I did give some thought to the Konigs, but I think they look more like the Watanabes more than the Panasports and I prefer the the Panasports, especially the 16x7 and especially the grey. I know there is a significant price difference between the two and I MANY other things I need to do to the Z but... So I bit the bullet and ordered the Panasports. Les from ClassicDatsun.com called me back and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. First time I've dealt with Les and I must say it was a pleasure, and I will be placing other orders with him in the very near future. On that note... He has 15x7 Gunmetal Panasports in-stock if anyone is interested. Nate (aka: Anxiously Awaiting Panasports) :nervous:
  5. I'm waiting on Les to call me back right with pricing. He already e mailed me to let me know that apparently there are no 16" Grey w/polished lip in North America right now, Yippee! So I guess I'm going to have to wait the 4 to 6 months for them to be ordered/made/shipped in. Now it just comes down to price... really it's a shame because I really wanted to have them on for the summer... now I'm just hoping to get them by the Vintage Sports Car Race at Watkins Glen this September. Nate
  6. Hey Craig- You are correct, I've been drooling over the Panasports so long that I know that I definetlly want the 16's... Thanks a lot for rubbing it in my face Jeff Those are the EXACT wheels I'm looking for! They look great!
  7. Hey y'all- I've already talked to MSA and have put out a few emails, ClassicDatsun.com included, and I am waiting for responses... but I'm curious as to where else people have purchased from. I am looking to purchase the 16x7 Formulas in Graphite (i.e. Gunmetal) with the polished lip by the end of next week. MSA no longer stocks them but can get them but it will take 4 to 6 MONTHS!!! Currently MSA is getting $1350 for the special order. I'm not interested in buying the silver ones and them having them powdercoated... I'd rather wait. All response welcome... Thanks, Nate :beard:

Nissanman - I Love your UTE man! ... I wish we had gotten those here in the states, I could have a lot of fun with one of those. Mr Camo - I once had a '72 1/2 620 Datsun Pickup... Once I'm finished with the Z, I'll be in the market for another 720. John - The parts costs wouldn't have been as big of a deal if I wasn't making payments too!!! Nate :beard:

Just wanted to brag about my new ride... My '02 Pathy was giving me issues and the price for parts on that thing was rediculous so I swapped her out for a new truck. Back to life with a bed for me! I went to get a Titan but after weighing the pros and cons along with what I actually need from my truck coupled with how satisfied and happy my old Frontier made me I decided on a '07 Frontier Crew Cab Long Bed. I got the SE 4x4 with the 6 spd M/T. Not a bad choice at all... It has more HP, TQ, Towing, Hauling than the Pathy did and Better Gas Mileage to boot. That's right... bigger, heavier and more powerful with better MPG!!! Now instead of putting time and money in my daily driver I can focus back to the Z!!! :rambo:
  10. Thought I'd wake up an old thread... Rota now has new sizes for the RB series wheel. It is now available in... 15 x 7.0 +12/+20/+25/+30 4h x 114.3 and 15 x 8.0 +12 4h x 114.3 If you can deal with the offset they seem pretty nice. I'm in the market for 16x7's so I'm still looking, guess I'll have to drop the cash on the Panasports.
  11. 27 - Finger Lakes Region of NY... but my heart (and legal residency) is still in Charleston, SC... Home *sniff*
  12. Ummmm, No. Next question. The new Challenger looks like it will be REAL sweet... but I wouldn't get rid of the Z for one. My father-in-law is planning to get one when they hit the road... he's quite excited and I can't wait to drive it myself, but I spent 3 1/2 years looking for the right Z.

Technically it says "pre-production" and it has said that for awhile now, November-ish. I really hope they come through with it, I'm a Speed geek and having just had a boy of my own I'd love to deck him and his room out in a load of Speed Racer paraphanelia.
  14. Arne, I have to disagree with Steve a bit. I think you should put a little money into it. I feel that if it was an original numbers matching car that you could still sell it for enough to leave it as is... but, since it is not most people will look at it as a rusty old car that needs a lot of help. I think because of it's glaringly obvious rust issues you would be lucky to get $2k for it. I feel a non-numbers matching car could easily draw $4k to $5K here in the aforementioned "rust belt". Let's be honest, not everybody is a collector looking for rarity and originality... some people just want a good/cool looking and fun to drive Z car. It's that collector guy that's looking rarity and would rather take a shell, without being able to drive it and spend years getting it just perfect... just ask Chris That being said I wouldn't drop more than $1500-2000 in it before trying to sell it. So if that sounds acceptable, cool. If not, please don't part it out... just take what you can get. Nate
  15. Arne- I can't imagine that you would get much more over here. On one side I would kill to have your dash, mine has like at least a half dozen BIG cracks, but that's the trade off for buying a SoCal car. You see mine has vertually no rust, I'm starting to get a bubble on the pass. dogleg, but other than that she is quite sound. I paid just over 5k including shipping, from the original owner nonetheless. After subjectively looking at the links provided this is my take... The rust worries me, No bumpers is a big deal... we know that a good set isn't cheap, As trivial as it is... the multiple color scheme means that if I were to buy it that I would be looking at having to do the body work, rust repair and full paint before driving it regularly. Floor pans look to be in decent shape though. So here is my suggestion to you , if you have the time... Take care of the dog legs and some of the other big rust, throw a Maaco paint job on it and clean up the engine bay and you could probably get $4k for it pretty quickly on this side of the states. FWIW- Nate

Time for the wife to go away then J/K buddy... or am I? Man I'd love that truck. I've been kicking myself since I got rid of a 72 1/2 620.
  17. Wish I had seen this thread earlier... I installed McQuay-Norris on my 240 last summer. They fit perfect. Part # FA1044. Do you still have the Part # for the ones that did not fit?
  18. '02 Xterra has the VG33 w/ 170hp and 200 ft.lbs. '02 Pathy has the VQ35 w/ 240 hp and 265 ft.lbs. (and shorter tires)... All I have added is a custom exhaust with a Flowmaster 50 SUV... she'll light 'em up. I had a Frontier with the 3.3. The VG is an awesome motor but you are correct, it's a bit gutless and there isn't much out there for aftermarket support and what is available (cams and such) aren't cost effective. Nate:beard:
  19. Everyone else is spot on in their replys. These cars were never intended for standing still and smoking tires, they are more built for twists and turns and pure driving enjoyment. Your car in particular (ie: automatic) really is behind the curve for an all out tire roasting. Don't be fooled by my response, I love a good burnout regardless of how pointless it is, but my Pathfinder even with it's LSD will blacken the pavement like nobody's buisness... much better than my 240. However, if you feel the need to boil 'em down the easy way is to get more power (turbo, V8, Rebello Stroker), do a manual transmission swap, and be prepared to fix all the things that you are sure to break... oh and please keep the burnouts off the roads. Neutral Drops are THE absolute best way to destroy a tranny. Well that and running it without fluid. The short of it is... quit trying before you break something and just enjoy the ride. Nate :beard:
  20. Hey guys and gals, This is way way off topic and not even car related, but considering this is something I'd share with friends I believe I should share with y'all! The web site is www.zillow.com It gives you approx values of your house and those around you. It's pretty cool and can also give you an aerial photo. Once you put in the address you want to look up and it comes up with the initial page click on the underlined address to check out the aerial photo. Like I said, it's pretty cool. Have fun, Nate :beard:
  21. I hear you there. But I can't imagine it would be easier to get money from Nissan if everyone there was using Toyota Tundra's or F-150's as tow vehicles. Now the 350's on the other hand should be enough for them to let go of the purse strings and drop some loot to support the event. Those things aren't cheap.

Awesome! Sikorsky, makers of such fine aircraft as the Coast Guard's HH-60 Jayhawk (known to others as the Blackhawk). Sounds like you're in for a really awesome career, Congratulations.

Carls got a point. My buddy's restored '65 Beetle is running around with no trim on the window for this exact reason. Thanks for posting the info you found out and thanks Carl for your narrative... now we can all insure that our glass is installed properly. Nate

Sounds like good advice to me.
  25. That seems a little silly, wouldn't it make more sense to purchase the vehicle that suits your needs for the best price? I'm not saying that Nissan is that vehicle, but it sounds like your saying that if is the best vehicle you wouldn't care because you don't want to support them... just sounds silly to me. Of course I'm a loyalist which is probably more silly... I'd buy it just because it's Nissan, but you'd play hell trying to get me to believe that there is a better truck for the money than a Titan... mmmm Titan... soon. This is a similar topic that has been discussed in the recent dream garage topic. It truly is a shame that a company that has a rich history is so negligent in promoting the past. "You can't know where you're going unless you know where you've been" comes to mind. I just find it hard to believe that between a name change and frenchy in charge that Nissan has turned us away. I've never heard of an avid Renault enthusiast, maybe that's why.?.
