Datsmeet Photos
Thanks Vic! They look great! I love that old pick up too. When I finish the Z I'm going to look for a 72 1/2 720 to match the Z. I had one once and I had to let it go. :disappoin

Merry Christmas!
This is a funny one, had it sent to me from a punk rock band. A very Politically Correct winter holiday statement. Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit our best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all... and a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform or sexual preference of the wishee. (By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.)

Could I barrow 1.5mil
In the magazine article that he took pictures of, he says that you get everything... the parts, the cars, the house and the buses... $2M at the time of the article, now he's asking $1.5M. There is a lot of really valuable stuff there, but some of the condition looks iffy. A shame really.

My 240z (die-cast) was kidnapped!
That's too funny! We do this kind of stuff all the time on the base. Try this one... -Unplug a piece of equipment at his desk, like his monitor for example. Then take a small piece of clear tape and wrap it around one of the prongs on the plug and plug it back in. The monitor won't turn on and he'll chase his tail trying to figure it out. It'll be really funny if an IT comes around and can't figure it out either. It's also fun to krazy glue his stuff to his desk, but that can cause damage and you want to make sure you get your Z back in one piece. Or... remove something from his desk (or even car keys), place in a metal coffee can, fill with water and place in freezer. Extract large block of ice with object encased and leave out. This one is fun to do with hats! Hope it helped... Nate

cold weather = bad mileage?
First off... This is how's it's been explained to me and it actually makes a little sense. I am a born and bread southerner, Charleston, SC to be exact! By way of the Coast Guard I now have logged in more than 5 years in Upstate NY. Aside from the obvious reasons of letting the vehicle warm up longer and spinning the tires on snow and ice...... Air:Fuel ratio. The air is colder and therefore more dense requiring more fuel to maintain the proper ratio, otherwise the vehicle would run lean. Every year when winter comes along I too see a decrease in mpg. My $.02... Nate

240SX Alternator Swap
Mike, Outstanding write-up! This is VERY good info and in fact you have inspired me to take this project on while my Z is in winter lay-up. Worth mentioning... I noticed on the Z Car Creations page that you linked to, that they noted for 240Z and 260Z to install a diode to prevent run on. Thanks for the time you spent gathering up the info and placing it into one solid article, It will save many of us a lot of time. Nate

They do look a little big here... but I've seen plenty of 16" Panasports that look spot on! Maybe it's just the angle of the photo?

Which wax do you use?
I've used a bunch of products over the years, but can't say that I've used Liquid Glass. Typically I use Meguiars, outstanding results and readily available almost everywhere. Jim has pretty much laid out the best way to go about restoring the shine... but if you're looking to do a little less work try a clay bar, polish, and then follow up with wax... typically I use Meguiars Carnauba but recently I gave their NXT Generation Tech Wax and this stuff is awesome! I'm not usually into synthetic waxes but this stuff worked great! Nate
