New CBS show will feature a '70 Z
I agree the dialouge about the engine was a nice addition... there's not much in life hotter than an attractive young lady talking about Hitachi Side Drafts I also agree that we need a show where a main character drives a Z, but they must also have LEAD FOOT :devious:

Collapsable Wheel Chocks
FWIW - My US '72 has the non-collapsable ones.

New CBS show will feature a '70 Z
Yup, there were only the two scenes that I recall. The normal time for the show will be Wed. @ 9pm. I did notice that it wasn't the stock steering wheel but did not notice wether it was an aftermarket or a later model steering wheel. If it was a later model steering wheel it could support your "different car" theory.

Hell, I thought those wipers were MOVING compared to mine Doesn't matter to me though I NEVER drive mine in the rain.

New CBS show will feature a '70 Z
Just finished watching the Z in Criminal Minds... Damn it was hot! Orange and Panasports! My Fav! Damn shame she was used for evil, but what can I say "Chicks dig Z's" Dogma... CSI is my addiction too ... and Nick made it out at the end of the finale last season. It's pretty sad, but I watch all 3 CSI's religiously. This new show might be my fourth addiction... gonna have to install a TV in the garage or I'll never get to work on the Z!

Suspension components delivery
Where did you purchase the lot from? This is the same setup i plan on installing on my Z over the winter.

guitar & Z (3)
Love the seafoam! Doesn't match the Z well ! I have a 94 Fender "american standard" Strat. Mine is candy apple, white pick guard and maple neck. I love it, now if I could just learn to play it worth a darn

my resto =)
Sounds like you've got a great plan. I'm normally big on keeping the original color but gunmetal paint idea sounds great! What kind and size of wheels do you plan on using? Will you be keeping the interior stock or do you have big plans for that too? Best of luck on your Z and keep us posted with lot's of pics! Nate

Some new pics of the 280z w/new konig rewinds
Do you mean this event at Travis AFB? http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=16154&cat=500&page=5 I was there for a short while... and hey I got the T-shirt! (ZONC shirt that is) The konigs look good, esp. on your 280. Not quite my style, but they are nice... and what a deal too! The gunmetal looks great on a blue car, nice choice. Nate

The infamous Sakura Wheels to be reproduced?
Love the Sakuras! I will keep abreast of this and possibly consider going with them instead of Panasports. The Panas may be popular but they look so damn good on a Z. Sakuras would definettly look good too, but I couldn't go with pink on an orange car  Nate

The Civic To End All Civics!!!!
Yo, Dat be da phatest ride I ever did see - fo shizzle!!! I guess people have nothing else better to spend money on. I, like others, can't figure out what the hell he was thinking by relocated the fuel filler door the roof?!?!?! And i'm sure that HUGE tach is a requirement with an automatic.

I lost to a Honda CRX...or did I?
Watch out... the new 06 civic will be coming with the 1.8L 140hp motor. A much better starting point than the non Si 127 now. Of course that's still not SE-R 165hp... on the other hand the new Si now no longer a hatchback, has a 2.0L and 197hp and that IS more than the Spec-V's 175!?!?!?! Hmmm, Nissan better get on the ball. The honda only has 139lb-ft of torque vs. the Spec-V's 180, but I don't know if it will help. I'll put my stock '72 up against ANY stock '72 Honda ANYDAY!!!

72 Zs with AC
Hey Steven! Nope, only the two at the compressor. Nate

72 Zs with AC
Here is a pic of the A/C controller on my '72 (09/71). http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=13891&cat=500&page=8 And the compressor... I could take a better pic of the compressor or condensor if you'ld like. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=13889&cat=500&page=8 Mine seems to be pretty common... I've seen a few of the samae ones. Nate

In lieu of jack stands
Dude - Jack stands are perfectly safe when used properly and they are meant to hold the car up. Buy a quality set of jack stands and you'll have them around forever. If your worried about them buy the 3 - 3 1/2 ton set. They will more than adequately support the light weight Z. Good Luck, Nate

Hurricane Katrina
Here, here JMort! You are correct sir. Although raising an entire city or moving seem quite improbable... but on second thought Boston did shove the interstates underground... hmmm? As you said the design is a local problem not the current administrations. 1972zed... trust me the g'ment is not ignoring the people down there. They have to get to them first. Trees are down, the roads that aren't flooded are packed with debris. If they could drive HumVees and Deuce and a Half's in there to get them they would. Things are tuff all over down there. As a side note... I'm a huge Hip fan, got started on 'em when I lived in Buffalo, NY. Nate

Hurricane Katrina
Will, I have to disagree with you on this. In fact I would have to say that there is no way that these people didn't know the geographical blunders of New Orleans. I knew as a kid growing up in Charleston. Every time a hurricane thinks about going towards NOLA every news organization brings up the fact that NOLA sits below sea level, and is nearly surrounded by water. In fact a band called The Tragically Hip (our Canadian friends know who I'm talking about) had a song on their 1989 album Up To Here called "New Orleans is Sinking". This has been popular public knowledge for years. Nate "New Orleans is sinkin' man I don't wanna swim"

1978 280Z - Here are some pics of my Z without the front ugly bumper! opinions?
It's not that the vette had no bumper, It just didn't have a chunk of chrome attached to the front end anymore... and then they eventually did the rear the same way. The protection was "built" into the car, behind the fancy plastic and fiberglass. They did the same thing to the Z's on the 300zx, and virtually every car built since like the late 80's. edit... I just found info saying 72 was the last year for the vette to have a chrome front bumper and that in 73 it was changed to body-colored flexible plastic. Oh yeah. Looks like something is missing without it, I say either get a frontend kit, a 240 setup or put the bumper back on.
