77 dizzy with E12-80 module
I was wondering if it is possible to use a E12-80 Ignition module on a 77 dizzy? I think I saw somewhere that it is possible, but I don't know how to wire it correctly. If someone knows for sure could they please explain how it wires up. Thanks

Help enrique !!!! paint question ?
I have been a consultant for the largest paint company in the world for 20 yrs (Akzo Nobel). My recommendation is to get a high quality Epoxy primer like (CIP Epoxy from Akzo) and apply 2 wet coats. Allow the primer to air cure for at least 3 days and then start your bodywork. Scuff the area to be worked with 80 grit and apply the bodyfiller directly over the cured and scuffed Epoxy. Block the body work areas with 80 grit followed by 180 grit, then 220 grit. After the body work is complete apply 3 wet coats of a high quality urethane filler primer. Then start the blocking process. I would do the initial blocking with dry 320 grit and then apply a guide coat and wet sand with 400-600. If you want a super slick straight finish you could apply at least 1 more double wet coat of filler primer and block with 600 wet after applying a guide coat. This will give you a super slick bullet-proof surface for topcoat. I hope this helped.

Vacuum Dashpot
Does anyone know where I can find a vacuum dashpot for a 73. Mine is not holding vacuum and I can't find one anywhere. I have rebuilt my dizzy and that is the only part I can't get. I have a 77 dizzy I could install in the car but I don't have the E12-80 ignition module to make the conversion for it. Either item would get my car running again, properly. I have tried several junkyards and they either are bad parts or don't have them at all. Buying these parts out of a salvage yard is kinda scary anyway since they have been sitting around so long. Thanks for any info on these 2 items....

North GA Z Car Lover
Thanks all for the welcome....and cunniwj as a matter of fact I am close friends with Bill's brothers Ernie and Dan. Their shop is only about 5 miles from my house. Bill has moved away to Blairsville, GA and we don't see him much anymore. If any of you get the chance, come visit the world famous Dawsonville Pool Room, probably the biggest collection of Bill Elliot memorabilia in the country. Thanks again for the welcome. Gene

North GA Z Car Lover
Hi everyone. I just signed up today and wanted to drop in and say hello. I have a 73 240 that I bought from the west coast and am in the process of getting it street worthy. The car only had 82,000 original miles when I got it, but had been sitting for about 20 yrs. without being cranked or moved. It belonged to a man that retired from a company and that was his retirement gift. He must have been a CEO or something. Anyway he drove it daily until his death. His wife said it was parked in their garage and she never moved it after his death. I found it by accident when a friend of mine told me about it and said he was friends with the lady. He knew I was looking for another Z and called me. I called her and the rest is history. The car was in pretty rough shape from sitting so long and I have been working on it for about a year. I am driving it daily, but it still needs alot of work. I am sure I will be asking a lot of question, cause I haven't had a Z since 1988. If anyone in the Atlanta area would like to contact me feel free to. I am probably going to join the GA Z club, I hear it has a lot of members and really nice people.

260Z optical distributor and XR3000
I have a xr3000 and a ps91 that was given to me and I am going to install it this weekend. Can anyone give me some info on hooking my tach up with the ps91. I have heard that it will fry my tach if hooked up directly because it runs on much higher voltage than the stock coil. Oh BTW, I have a 73 with the old points dizzy. The coil of course uses a ballast resistor. I do have a tach from a 77 but don't want to use it if I don't have to.

XR3000-PS91 Question
I was given a Crane XR-3000 Points convertor and a PS-91 Coil. I want to install this in my (11/72)-73 240. Does anyone know how it wires up and can I use my Tach. I have read a lot of forums about this and some talk about the tach either frying or not working after the install. I don't have the manual from Crane but have downloaded one, but it doesn't seem to include my setup for the coil and tach. I do know the Red wire from the module goes to the + on the coil and the Yellow to the -, but how does the tach wire in. I have the B/W wire and the G/W wire on the original setup going through a ballast resistor. Do I leave the ballast resistor inline with the PS-91? I wouldn't think so since it doesn't require a ballast resistor. This would sure solve a lot of my problems with this car (I HATE POINTS). Any help or pictures of a similar setup would be appreciated, even a wiring diagram sketch would help. Thanks:confused:
