SU's got me stumped
This service from Ztherapy has been absolutely outstanding. This assures me of my decision to purchase my 260Z round-top conversion from them last year.

How to remove 240Z head
Assuming the valvetrain has already been removed, that's all I can think of.

Bumpers -- shortening the projection of the rear bumper?
I did that to my '74. Before (black plastic pieces removed) Shocks compressed and welded After Once you take the bumper off of the shocks, you will see a small screw in the middle of the mounting flange on the shocks. Remove this screw and the pressure will be released from the shock. Compress it to your desired length, and weld/drill/bolt it to secure it there. Hope this helps.

Energy Suspension transmission mount?
That's exactly what I thought. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SDC02F/10-2240

Energy Suspension transmission mount?
I repeat....this thread is NOT about a differential mount. Thanks to TomoHawk for the info. I'll look into it.

Energy Suspension transmission mount?
I'm aware that the RT diff mount uses a Chevy trans mount, but i'm looking for a replacement for the factory transmission mount. If the Chevy mount works for that too, that'd be awesome.

Energy Suspension transmission mount?
Does Energy Suspension or any other aftermarket company make a transmission mount for the original L26-4 speed combo? Mine is shot and I don't wanna shell out $70 for the factory replacement. I've searched everywhere but came up empty.

I'm finally starting my DIY car paint (240Z)
I would have taken all of that stuff off before I took the glass and everything else off. Color looks good, though.

Gunk or something in gas tank!
You're welcome. I had my tank chemically cleaned at a local radiator shop and it looks MUCH better now.

Gunk or something in gas tank!
Ah......this thread brings back memories.

A couple of shots of my 280z with fall foliage
Looking great!

I'm finally starting my DIY car paint (240Z)
The one word of advice I can give is make SURE every little nook and cranny is wrapped/taped around that engine bay. Overspray can creep into places you wouldn't believe and you wouldn't want that on that nice engine.

I Must Be Crazy
Buy 260Z, swap bumpers, be happy.

260Z NP and warning valves
So, I'm getting back around to finishing the brake project that I started oh so long ago. I'm going to clean out all the lines and everything, and I'm wondering how I need to clean the proportioning valve and the fault warning light switch. Should these just be blown through with compressed air and isopropyl alcohol or do they need to be disassembled? If so, are there replacement (rebuild) parts available?

Coolant hose routing
Good luck man. It's worth it!

Coolant hose routing
If you're eliminating the coolant lines and stuff that go around the back of the engine to the carbs/intake, then this is what it should look like. When I did mine, I remember having a discussion with several forum members and this is what I was told was the best/most common way to do it. Hope this helps. EDIT: This is on a 260Z. I used a 3/4"-5/8" heater hose reducer in the hose that comes from the front right water outlet. You can see the hose clamps holding it on in the second picture.

what spray can primer is recomendable?
Dupli-Color makes an excellent Self-Etching Primer as well. Might be the same as Rustoleum though. I used it on some control arms and was shocked at how easy it made the job. If you get the metal clean enough, you don't even have to sand it. This stuff just plain STICKS.

Anyone interested in relined Aluminum drums?
I'd be interested. I'm currently redoing the brakes on my 260 and need new drums.

My 260Z brake rebuild
At any rate, we're all covered.

My 260Z brake rebuild
I hope you have more time to devote to it than I do!

My 260Z brake rebuild
Sounds good! Glad to see they are continuing the great service. Surely, after receiving basically the same inquiry from three people with 3 different suppliers, they will recognize the problem and start putting 4 in each kit.

My 260Z brake rebuild
Me too! Haven't had a lot of time to work on it lately but I did get the front lines flushed out and the right front side torn down yesterday. Progress pics coming later on today. BTW, I found a lot more gunk in this caliper than I did the other one. One passage in both sides of this caliper was completely blocked off with brown "gel." ...and to think I was driving it like this. I'm looking forward to feeling the upgraded brakes.

260Z master cylinder cap seals
Mine are Tokico and do not have the filters in them.
-
260Z master cylinder cap seals
Sorry. I checked MSA and Rock Auto and nothing was listed either place. I'm guessing what I need is pictured as "Filters" in that diagram? Both of mine are apparently missing the entire lower portion and are only 2 little rubber rings. I had no idea they were supposed to look like that.

260Z master cylinder cap seals
Anyone know where to get these? I'd like to buy just the seals, if they're available. Thanks.
