Thanx for the support bill!! I don't suppose you have any ideas on a cheap way to get that shell up here do you? Cuz, if I go that route it will still cost me about the same with the cost of the shell and the freight and no offense, but the rust free one still sounds better. I will say one thing though, you are a LOT more punctual then that guy in washington, he still hasn't gotten back to me yet!!!

Just wondering, what area is the clock that keeps track of posts set to?

Just a thought, you could jump a wire from the positive on your battery to your coil and crank it. If it doesn't fire then, your coil is bad.

You're right, that is a steal, the only thing is that I have 2 or 3 of everything that I need to build a complete car. I would just end up with another drivetrain sitting in my garage that I wouldn't use that I paid for.

Well that was what I was thinking too and was going to do until I ran across the little problem of the whole chasis being tweaked. I have fixed a lot of really messed up cars (like a f150 that got rolled end over end 3 times) and the end results are not quite as sturdy as what I would call strait. That, and by the time I was done I would spend more trying to fix what I have.

My first car hmm.... well, I dont know if it counts as a first or not but when I was 13 I bought a 79 monte' for $100 just cuz I was tired of walking at the time. I had it for like a week and then ramped it into a mud hole in a cornfield cuz I couldn't register it and my parents wouldn't let me have a car yet. After that, my 1.5st car was my 71 240z that I bought from some guy for $500 that didn't even know to put oil in the carbs. This is the same car that I had for about 6 years and it finally met its death by way of ice (look at the Help me find a z thread). Now I drive a 91 plymouth laser that drinks about a quart and a half of oil a day which now I can't wait to scrap when I finally get my Z fixed!

I dont know if it will help much but I had that exact same problem when I put a 280 hood on my 240. It stuck up right at the front about 1/2 inch with the rods but when I took them off it sat fine. I tried changing hinges and everything with no success. What it ended up being is that the mounts behind the headlight bucket were all messed up from an accident that someone didn't fix right. Cant really help with a solution though, I just left the bars off
  11. If you want to see a wide selection of body parts check this out: http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/ I dont know about their quality or if they are even still available but they have more aftermarket bodyparts then anyone else that I have found.

Thanx for the resources!! I was just thinking, I know that over the three years that they made 240's they gradualy gained weight, so is there any difference in the actual chasis (other then the early 70) or is the weight all from stuff like emissions and flame retardent interior pieces and the like? That, and is there any compatability issues with me putting 71 stuff on another year chasis? I know some stuff like the downpipe from a 73 doesn't fit right on my 71.

Well, here starts my sad story. I bought a early 71 that was in rough shape and battled with it for about 4 years to keep it on the road in a halfway respectable condition. I finally put in a new four row radiator and rebuilt motor and thought that I could finally start with the bodywork when it happened. I was driving a LITTLE over the 65 mph speed limit and caught a patch of ice and flew off about a ten foot dropoff sideways. Somehow I didn't roll it and didn't take out any marker posts on the way so I thought that I pulled out ok. Shortly after I found out that the fall ripped the crossmember clean off the driverside framerail taking a big chunk with it which also caused my motor to shift sideways and hit the column which snaped my rack in half. So heres my question, I have everything that i need for a z car (an accumulation of three, one of which i gave the chasis to a guy who had chasis issues) but my chasis is crap. I reeeeeeeeeeeally dont want to get rid of my Z but I cant find a chasis that is in my price range ( I am pretty poor after fixing my Z while going to college) and that I could get to Nebraska. If anyone has one that is at least repairable I would greatly appreciate the info. Or, if anyone has any idea how to fix this I would appreciate that too, keep in mind that my passenger door doesn't even latch now
