Toyota Caliper going back to stock
My brake lines to the new master cylinder are indeed backwards. I did not get them changed but will post after I do get them changed. On the orginal 72 MC the front brakes go to the front reservoir and on the larger ZX MC the front goes to the back reservoir. I hope this helps with the pedal.

Toyota Caliper going back to stock
I hope not. the front one on the MC goes to the front brakes right. This is a 72Z

Toyota Caliper going back to stock
I did install the ZX master. I will try adjusting the pin. I will be careful to make sure it is not pressing on the master when not engaged. I hope this works. I'll let you know how it turns out. It's snowing out and way too cold for me to be working in the garage this weekend so hopefully next week.

Jack T, I did not move it out when I installed the new master. I will try that also. Good idea.

Toyota Caliper going back to stock
I did the rears at the same time as the fronts. When I adjusted the rears I tightened until the drums started rubbing on the shoel I think they are tight enough but not sure. The brake pedal height seems right, it matches the clutch pedal. Can look at the turnbuckle but that is tough to get at.

Toyota Caliper going back to stock
The car stops just fine but the pedal does not grab until it's almost completely down. I will try the suggestions from Daniel the 240z man this weekend if it's not too cold out. The caliper bleeders on on the top. I have new stainless steel brake lines that replaced the rubber lines. I have new rebuilt rear cylinders also. Brakes seem to be working correctly. When I lock them fronts lock and the car goes straight. Does not pull. I have bled the system three different times.

Daniel, Thanks for the reply, I have new rotors, calipers, pads and wheel bearings. I'm stumped. I'm in Colorado Springs, we should get together some time.

Should have mentioned. Have checked the disk and it is also good. Still there and the master vac is also new.

Toyota Caliper going back to stock
I have read most all of the info on the toyota caliper change over. I put new toyota calipers on my 72 Z. Brakes work fine, not much better than the stock calipers but my brake pedal is way down and I can't get it to come up. I hate it and think I should go back to orginal to get good pedal feel. FYI, I changed the master also to a larger one from a later Z, no help. Any suggestions before I go back to the way it was.

hood torsion bar
I was afraid of that. Had hoped I would not have to remove the hood. I tried to put them on with the grill off but I could not get enough leverage to force them into the holder. Thanks, I guess I have a new project.

hood torsion bar
On my 73Z the front hood torsion bars are not attached to the hood hinges. I have obtained a set but can not figure out how to install them. I have searched the sites but have not found any info on installing. Is there a way to get them installed without taking the hood or hinges off?
