Need advice: Adding to the garage... Duetto anyone
My mom had a Fiat 124 spider back in the old days. I got to drive it once in a while, it was fun to drive. I enjoyed the Triumph GT6 MkIII I had though the Lucas electrics drove me crazy. Only car I ever drove where the headlight switch cover fell off.

andres14oj, Thank you for sharing the pictures. Do have to use an air source when you are painting? Mike

Personalized plates
I wonder if there is a state lenient enough to allow a license plate that says woody?

S30 in 3d
Great looking model! There is a nice translucency so that parts can be seen behind others like an X ray view.

Best way of documenting a restoration
As far as restoration on my car such as it is I want to have a list in the car of what has been changed from stock so I can get a replacement easily. One thing on the list is the alternator the PO put on is from a 280ZX (will have to verify car model it came from), externally regulated. Another thing I did was after I put in turn signal relays I printed out a copy of the schematic and made notes on how to reverse to original wiring and taped that inside the clamshell so I or anyone else can see easily how to revert to how the factory made the car.

Making an inspection light lens
How would it look if the lens were made without using a vacuum chamber, would there be a lot of holes in the result?

original jute material
redzedsled, Thanks! Can this be used for making a carpet piece? Does anyone know if the carpet needs to be a little bigger than the jute so it hides the jute underneath it? Mike

Ford and Hitler...and GM.....go figure
I remember reading about a sub base on the U.S. East coast friendly to German subs during WW2. Never have been sure whether that could have been true.

280zx in rock vid
Interesting stories of sorts in the videos, nice looking Z. The music reminds me of back when I played guitar though not that well!

S30 in 3d
Here are some pictures from the engine side of the radiator support though the PO undercoated the engine bay which may make this too dark to be useful. Driver's side:

Compression rod sleeve removal
When I put the sleeves back on my car I put a light coating of grease on the rod they slip over and on the sleeve itself where the wear mark was in the middle where it goes through the hole being careful not to get any where rubber might come into contact with it. I don't know if there would be a reason for this to be a bad idea but there might be one.

What are you on the look out for?
For a concourse type car the duct tape would be suitable.

My grandson's new desk chair.
I thought of putting a tail light with a light in it on the wall. I would keep it usable though just in case I ever needed it.

Shhhh, The Police Like It Quiet.
I had an old GT6 triumph in the 70s that I ran for a while with just the resonator. Even with the small 2 liter engine that was too loud for me, couldn't hear the radio. Did get pulled over once but just got a fix it in a week and there is no cost kind of thing. Before that pull over another cop got my attention as he cruised next to me and pointed to the muffler and mouthed the words "too loud".

What are you on the look out for?
That is the patented knob extraction hole. I wonder if there was a rubber plug in the hole originally? I don't remember seeing holes in my car other than the standard holes all the same size with rubber plugs. I don't have plugs in mine now (no carpet) and every once in a while a washer or nut drops out through a hole. Maybe the knob is hiding in the seat supports.

What to do with a rolling shell
I think I am 9 hours' drive from you being down here in Boise. No way for me to scrounge parts off of it with that distance. Thanks for listing the car.

Installing Aftermarket Stereo Receiver - Wiring Question
Here is a wild arse guess otherwise known as a wag. All wires on the flasher switch are normally hot? If someone gets it right do they get a prize? What about booby prizes for incorrect answers?

Very tip of the hood (repair)
Here are some more pictures. I tried to duplicate the angle of your picture. I noticed looking at the hood point that to me the bottom seems to have more of a point on it than the top does on my car. To me looking at your picture your hood looks like that too.

Very tip of the hood (repair)
Here are some pictures from my car (70 240Z). I realized after I took them that you might want pictures from a lighter colored car as mine is nearly black on that part of the car. My car has at least three different colors on it, not counting the cartoon characters pebbles and bam bam. Top view looking down (the ruler is not touching the hood): Side view of front corner, up is to the left: Front view from slightly above hood: Front view from slightly above hood but further away: Looking up from under front corner:

Rebuilding my 71'
Personally I would LOVE to take on this kind of challenge if I had the time (and the skills) however I would be likely to drive on side streets and do doughnuts there as a test of my work before sneaking out into real traffic.

Rebuilding my 71'
I admire your work. Bravo! Nice to see a Z coming back to the living so to speak.

240z shift map
What year is your car? The 71 240Z I had back in the late 70s had a black and white 4 speed map. I THINK the green map was for a later 240Z model.
