radiator
My 240Z radiator came unsoldered at that same spot, same side too. My VIn is 907 I wonder if some radiators were soldered by the same guy on a Monday.

Wiring routing of front and rear speaker panel on a 72´ 240z
The original speaker wires join the wiring harness for the taillights and run toward the front of the car behind the plastic interior panel that Dave WM described that hides where the gas goes in on the right rear side. Then they go between the two layers of metal over the right rear wheel well and come out of there behind the passenger seat in the corner by lower rear of the door. That is how I ran additional wires on my car, I followed the original path but it is more work than running them under the carpet. Depends on whether you want to run the wires following the same path the factory did. Not sure whose car this is a picture of so I can't give credit. This picture shows a finisher panel removed that covers the gas inlet pipe but the other finisher below the rear quarter window that Dave WM described is still in place. When that one is pulled off there are holes that are revealed that assist in fishing wire through that area.

[2016] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
At a stoplight a few minutes ago in my 240z and a beige '69 KKE pulled up on my left. Had a brief conversation with the driver, letting him know I admired his car. He liked my car too. His car appeared immaculate as far as I could tell. A couple of weeks ago in a parking lot I noticed a Porsche 944 sitting near my car. Got into a fun discussion with the driver and learned about Porsche engines as he opened the hood for a look see.

Harada Power Antenna Teardown Guidance
I wonder if 12V is supposed to be supplied between one of the wires and the antenna motor case ground? Each wire then would make the antenna reverse direction? In 2008 my 70/240Z came with a radio shack retractable antenna that I installed and it works fine but I have an aftermarket radio, not sure the antenna I have would work with the original switch even if one of those old radio shack auto antennas could be found. I have wondered about the idea of gluing a small antenna wire to the back hatch glass at the top.

#64 just popped up on ebay
My first z had been painted right before I bought it. It was a '71 that I bought in 1977 from a dealer. He had taped over the needed bodywork instead of fixing it correctly. I later fixed that myself. For any other car I would have been mad at that guy but I so loved and enjoyed the car I didn't care.

Tool storage?
This is what I did to my car. I keep the metal I cut out under the passenger seat in case someone wants to weld it back in.

After the picture of the moose was taken it turned, looked at the camera and wandered off into the trees. Those switchbacks look like fun.

Passenger door switch 1978
Maybe pull the wires far enough out then tying them securely with something, like wrapping string (or something grippy like sinew) around them, then cutting off the wires and soldering the new wires to the old ones? I realize this might not be easy due to working with short wires plus if a short to ground develops later it would be hard to find (use heat shrink?). I sort of like to stick to originality when I can even in hidden areas. Maybe one side is ground too so polarity has to be observed. I think my 240 passenger door switch wires came out from behind the passenger kick panel. I was able to use that to advantage when getting my 240 door switches to work, Some rambling ideas here.

1973 Rebuild
My first Z, a 1971 model had paint coming loose a bit right above the rear quarter window which I took to be caused by roof flex at the joint where the roof was welded to the upper forward part of the rear inside quarter panel, not sure what that area is called. I understand modern adhesives can be stronger than steel (?) and have speculated on the idea of gluing a flat reinforcing plate on the inside right above the quarter window.

Parts for OEM NP-Valve and Brake indicator switch unit
Don't know if I should mention this but on a non Datsun car I had a long time ago I reused the original seals on a brake cylinder, making them work by wrapping (string? wire?) around the metal seat where the seal went. The idea was to expand it outwards to force the rubber to be in contact with the cylinder bore. It worked but there are no standard ways of doing that I can imagine plus care would have to be used so that any material used could never work its way out of the seat area.

Cash offered at stoplight for my 240Z #907
I was sitting at a stoplight a few minutes ago in my 240Z VIN #907 and heard a horn beep, looked over in the right lane and was asked if I wanted to sell the car. I remembered his car, I had pulled out in traffic just before him and pulled away a little. He asked if I wanted to sell it and I was reluctant but then asked how much and he offered $8,000. When I didn't seem interested he offered $11,000. I told him the car was special I would keep it. First stoplight auction I have been to. I have been driving this car in the summer over here on the West cost of California for various errands. Fun car to own.

Well Used Equipment
Nice picture. Those tires were probably good for another 10 miles before they would have blown out. I had a friend in high school who had little money. He drove on a tire on his car until it let air out because the tread area wore all the way through. I inspected the tire after it lost air and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Boy did he get his money's worth out of that tire. I wonder if anyone has ever put duct tape over a worn area to get a few more miles?
